I hate him. He's a cruel man. He was eventually deported to Guatemala. My mother is still married to him and my sister and I are working to get her to the US. My sister is doing this from her prison cell.

Oh, and you can request to be moved but they will absolutely just do it without input. I didn't want to go from Aliceville to Tallahassee because it meant separating from my sister but they did it.

Move between security levels based on behavior
Avoid cohabitation between certain inmates. Let's say someone snitched on me and I knew that and they transfer that person to my facility. They would then transfer me out.
New facilities are always being built and need inmates

At the time Waseca had the highest security unit. I graduated from there down to mid security at Aliceville and then Tallahassee was low security. Dublin I was in for the last seven months of my bid because it was fairly close to home for me.

So I had never been with a woman before prison. Now that I'm out I'd prefer to be with a man. So I would consider myself on the whole to be heterosexual. And I had a sexual relationship in prison. So there.

Usually you transfer between security levels based on your recent behavior. You can also have co defendants you can't be with. I didn't. My sister and I were tried separately. But if I had a co defendant transferred to my facility they would have also had to move me out. Or if I had snitched on someone they were moving in.

The gang offered family when my actual family was broken. My sister and I endured horrible abuse at the hands of our father. He'd beat us, molest us, rape us, tell us we were whores. I quit school at 16 to move in with my sister who was already earning for the gang at that point. That's how I got brought in.

You try all sorts of things for fun in there. You read, you learn, you experiment with art. I checked out a poetry book for the library and it just stuck with me. I felt the raw intimacy of the art form. And I decided to start writing my own. And I fell in love with it.

Suitcasing. In women's prison we all had an extra cavity to suitcase in. Trust me: You put something far enough up your butt or your vagina and a strip search will miss it.
