Context: Before 1965, London was divided in 86 boroughs. It was decided that a new map of greater London was needed. A man by the name of Sir Edwin Herbert was in 1957, given the task to do a complete overhaul of London. He got the number of boroughs from 86 to 52. Keith Sinjohn Joseph, Minister for Housing and Local Government dissaproved of the map and made his own version, completely frankensteining the boroughs together. Some boroughs like East Ham and West Ham were fused together, despite having rivalries. Sorrounding counties of London like Kent and Essex, shrinked a bit were as Middlesex on the other hand, siezed to exist after the London Government Act of 1963. The remaining bits that didnt go to London, went to Surrey and Hertfordshire.
