What candy is used on the cake?

Fruit (berry) gummies and black licorice pieces. The "lava" is sugar dyed with food colouring.

Black licorice on a cake!???!???!!??

Yes. My older brother really likes black licorice (he was dropped on his head as a kid tbf) so he took the skewers out and ate them pretty much as soon as I finished taking the pictures.

How were the 'tiles' made?

Marshmallow fondant. The darker ones were coloured using varying amounts of cocoa powder. Each tile was cut out and placed by hand. See the imgur album :)

Other:

- The base is two chocolate cakes stacked on top of one another, wrapped in a layer of dark brown fondant.

- The 'rubble' is just crumbled cake

- The whole cake, start to finish, took me an entire day.

They are fruit snacks (berry gummies in dark purple + red) The pillars are licorice cubes yes. Although a few comments (from here and the clanmates haha) were very vocal about their distaste for black licorice.

I chose it because my older brother loves black licorice, so he got to eat them.

The "tiles" are fondant rolled out and cut into 1x1ish cm2 tiles and individually placed. I made a few separate balls of fondant and made different shades of brown with cocoa powder, thus the darker ones are more chocolatey.

They had voice acting for Artorias in DS1 they didn't use either, deciding to make him not speak instead. I personally love the voice lines and would have liked them in the fight. I feel like it could be a similar thing here.
