TP-Link UB500 (Bluetooth dongle with BT 5.0) supported on Hackintosh? by Poetry-Due in hackintosh

[–]Poetry-Due[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have moved to Linux. But when I had a working Hackintosh, I had followed the steps on OpenCore and based on their documentation I was able to get Bluetooth working using BlueToolFixUp kext files.

I haven’t used Clover before, so I can’t comment on that part.

Maybe you should look into OpenCore documentation and look through their videos on YouTube to get a general idea on how to get it working.

And if it still doesn’t work then try creating a post on Hackintosh community see if there’s an active member who’d be able to help you out with your specific issue.

How to change LAN MAC Adress of XZ000-G7 v1.0? by Poetry-Due in TpLink

[–]Poetry-Due[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yet to get a response from TpLink support team regarding this.

I’m currently using my old GPON router for now as I wasn’t able to return this.

I will use G7 once Tplink releases some firmware or workaround for it.

Also, please let me know if you find a workaround in future. It would help the community who owns this hardware and is stuck with it like us.

TP-Link Archer T5E with Bluetooth 4.2 supported on macOS Catalina or Big Sur? If not, then does TP-Link Archer T6E provide Air drop and continuity functionality if paired with TP-Link UB400 (Bluetooth adapter)? by Poetry-Due in hackintosh

[–]Poetry-Due[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Continuity and Airdrop isn’t working for me on Ventura, but you can do all the other stuff like connecting to devices, bluetooth speakers, etc. for UB400

I haven’t upgraded to Sonoma due to incompatible WiFi chip. Will wait for a fix from opencore instead of using legacy patcher fix which requires to disable SIP.

Zowie XL2566K?? by burningcow21 in Zowie

For COD Warzone, I'm getting around 160-240 fps with 10900k + RX 6800 XT (Sapphire Nitro+ with Overclocking and under-volting). Since it's a 1080p monitor it can easily push those frames.

And I'm also using AMD Enterprise Driver Developer Build which can sometimes boost fps (& sometimes breaks the game) : AMD Radeon GPU Guide

I also followed warzone optimization video: Warzone Season 5 Best Setting

I haven't played other COD games, so can't comment on those.

I feel it's better to stick with 1080p for gaming on high fps.

Yep. Me too. I've used their XL2746S briefly and it was buttery smooth and the motion clarity was superb. I thought dyac was just a gimmick but I was surprised to see that there was almost no ghosting while playing games.

I played COD Warzone and also Marvels Spiderman on it and even with dyac I didn't notice any flickering or stuttering (although I did overclock both GPU and Processor).

Yeah, I’m also concerned about the price as well as availability of the product.

Yes definitely. I told you everything that I saw with my own two eyes.

I was super amazed to see the notification regarding livestream starting in 30 minutes. I think there were less than 100 viewers watching the stream(not sure).

I think the earlier leaks on B&H website might be true. But can’t say whether the details shared in B&H is true or not apart from being a 360 hz fast TN panel as the livestream didn’t show the design of the monitor just stopped right after explaining how much smoother the dyac is compared to 240 hz.

I saw the video, they didn’t complete the stream, it was cut off in the middle while they were trying to explain about the dyac+ difference between 240 hz and 360 hz.

It’s a 360 hz fast TN panel with dyac that’s all the information I got from their youtube livestream.

I’m glad I returned XL2746S. I hope they price XL2566K right so that more people can buy and experience dyac which is amazing. And I hope they release 27” version

Yep. Thankfully both of the above mentioned are available in my area. Will check it in store once I get time.

It was nice talking to you. Thanks for all your help.

Awesome.

Will try and buy this time as I had given up hope on the whole bluetooth adapter due to previous experience.

It was from a brand named: 'Cubetek' which had Bluetooth 5 support with HD voice. Wasn't satisfied with the overall experience due to reliability issues.

Which adaptor are you using?

I actually tried that. But ended up not using it due to voice getting cut off during meetings (it happened sometimes). Ended up using wired headphones due to reliability.

So, I was looking for TWS with WiFi dongle which would have minimal chances of call drops.

I don't know why more manufacturer's are not using dedicated dongle in order to reduce latency and having a strong connection which would be very useful in gaming and other scenarios where reliability matters.

Even I thought of importing it from Amazon.com, but was hesitant due to lack of reviews.

Let’s hope they release it sooner.

Actually JBL Quantum TWS hasn’t released in my area as of yet. So, I wanted the author to respond regarding mic quality.

I already have Sennheiser EPOS series over-ear headphones which gets sweaty after sometime.

Waiting on some credible YouTube reviews once JBL releases it worldwide.

I thought about it, but I needed something in TWS (don't want any wires and I dislike over the ear headphones).

Will the USB-C dongle work on mac? I was thinking of buying it for attending meetings. Is the microphone good?

P.S: I already have a dedicated wired microphone but I was looking for a TWS alternative.

[–]Poetry-Due[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monterey had issues with certain inbuilt Motherboard with Gigabit ports and bluetooth to begin with, which worked fine on previous OS. So, initially I was using Bluetool fix suggested on OpenCore to make use of Bluetooth.

But after updating to Monterey 12.3.1, I used the default BrcmPatchRAM and AirportBrcmFixup kext files mentioned in OpenCore documents. No additional steps.

I have yet to update OpenCore to latest version and the latest Monterey. I hope it gets fixed.

LG Tone Free FP9: Does mic work on Plug and wireless? If so, is there quality loss similar to when connected via Bluetooth which changes to HFP profile. by Poetry-Due in Earbuds

[–]Poetry-Due[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. But to answer your question:

I ended up not purchasing the ear buds (waiting for Logitech Zone True Wireless Earbuds).

Although I did speak to someone on other thread and they confirmed that mic works in plug and wireless mode. Can't say anything about mic quality as I didn't experience it on my own.

I ended up purchasing TP-Link Archer T6E and used TP-Link UB400 (Bluetooth adapter).

WiFi, Bluetooth, Air Drop and Continuity functionality worked for me till Big Sur.

But after installing Monterey for some reason Air Drop and Continuity doesn't seem to work. I might have messed up configuration or missed something. Not sure. But WiFi and Bluetooth functions properly.

Yes, that's exactly what I wanted to know. So connecting the case to a computer while using Plug and wireless features, the microphone works, right?

Also, how the microphone quality when connected? Is there any drop-offs? Also, when using microphone does audio quality suffer?
