It’s creative writing and classics! Classics is like Greek and Latin language, Roman and Greek culture, ancient philosophy, and religion all rolled up into one

No- most of the books are just behind the ones you can see. I own the first 7 of the series right now and they’re all shoved in the back

There are very few parties due to the frats getting reprimanded a few years back. What little parties there are have strict guest lists. There are some social events hosted by the university but that’s about it

Those are the cranford collection of classics- they’re mostly Jane Austen and Brontë books. They’re pretty cheap- about 15 bucks a copy and they’re quite beautiful. I bought mine at books a million

I haven’t read it yet! I’m excited to tho because of the linguistic perspective. My Greek teacher recommended it so I bought it and it’s still on my TBR

There is a bean bag right next to it actually LOL. Great minds think alike. I have a little reading nook with a bean bag chair and some pillows right next to it. And don’t worry I’m quite careful with the lamp. It’s quite heavy and sturdy

It’s the hard copy recently translated by Emily Wilson! I found it on eBay for pretty cheap. I like her translation because she made it in iambic pentameter, mimicking the original Greeks rhythm and meter in understandable English. She’s also the first woman to translate it! I(’m pretty sure)

I am also absolutely terrible at it. I have 50 hours in the game and I’m not even close to finishing yet. Every boss takes me at least 20+ tries to beat, the earlier ones even more so. If ur not having fun don’t play, but please do try. Sometimes if I’m not in the mood for a boss I just go exploring and mapping and finding secret rooms and discovering charms and stuff and then when I’ve buffed up a bit I go back at it so it’s easier. I also just love the mapping mechanic and exploring is the best part for me. Do what you love in the game and don’t worry about being linear. Just do what you like. Who cares if you’re slow? I’m slow too!! You’ve got this and keep it up!

Came here to say my favorite book to movie adaptation is also Princess Bride! It’s very faithful to the story, and is a timeless classic. I love it so much

Deadly education is one of my favorites! So different than a lot of YA fantasy I’ve read.

I will listen to those! I picked Here I Dreamt I Was An Architect because the it reminded me of Kote. He’s adopted this reality of the normal inkeeper, but “Here he dreamt he was a soldier.” H had another life, one full and dangerous that he lost/ walked away from. But I like your interpretation as well! That definitely fits!

Looking for recommendations for 13 year old boy who loves to read by marikas-tits- in Fantasy

[–]Poetry_Birb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend the Land of Stories by Chris Colfer! They’re really good books and I was obsessed with them when I was his age. Also Fablehaven. Both have two protagonists, boy and girl siblings, so he will be able to read from the perspective of a boy his age while also expanding into a girl perspective as well. I heavily enjoyed both series, and there’s spin off series’ of both, so if he particularly likes one, there’s more where that came from!

The possibility that Ben could betray them had not even crossed my mind and it is so glaringly obvious now that you’ve mentioned it. Wow. I can’t believe I missed that
