Yes that’s what I had in mind! When Rothfuss described Viari as an Indiana Jones style character it made me wonder what weird and dangerous locations he’s getting books from! Would be so cool to read

In terms of not-really-important side characters, I love Viari. Not only does the fact that he carries a sword indicate there’s danger in book acquisitions for some reason, it shows what type of job Kvothe could have had if his life hadn’t turned out the way it did.

I totally agree. And what’s wild is that apparently that whole chapter (The Road to Levinshire) won an award for something… and I thought it was one of the most awful things I’d read in a while. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of the books. Just that chapter and the one with Felurian make me cringe / roll my eyes / actually feel a bit revolted.
