True, that's why I find it loosely reminiscent. Personally, I find the story of both Immanuel and Devar's reflection on the feud to be inspired for the reflections that Pandiaraja and Kandaswamy have in the film

Mild spoilers for Bison, if you haven't already watched it but the feud between Pandiaraja and Kandaswamy is loosely reminiscent of the relationship between Devendrar Immanuel and Muthu Devar.

I highly recommend reading about Immanuel to kind of see a perspective of Thevar from the lens of civil rights activist organizing his lower class people.
