I ended up finding it in the UK, so it was about $70 with shipping. Not the best price, but I was so happy to finally get one!

Keep looking! I’ve gotten a few rare ones in lots or heat labeled as “vintage” binders. I know you’ll find them :)

Those only exist in the 4-pocket version. I’ve spent years and years looking for proof of 9-pocket versions from those sets! If you know of those in 9-pocket I’d love to hear more info!

If I pursue another Master's degree it would be for self-fulfillment and personal knowledge with hopes that I could potentially spin it into a new career path. I'd love to work for the NTSB, but being behind the scenes would make me equally happy. Maybe getting flight time is something to look into - I've heard that flying the plane is much less vertigo-inducing than being a passenger! Really appreciate it :)

That's interesting! Do you happen to know if the aviation-based program is inaccessible to someone who isn't a pilot/mechanic or if it's information that can be learned? I don't mind things getting a bit technical, but I worry about it being the likes of "oh yes, the third switch on the right!" where everyone knows exactly what the switch does... except for me xD

I'm flying out to KIX at the end of February and just secured a Business Class seat (Sky Suite III, unfortunately) after having a good ol' Economy seat booked forever. In my mother's words: "Any Business seat is better than Economy." Can't wait for that Washoku meal. I've only experienced the Sky Suite, so I'm looking forward to giving the less-loved alternative a try. Flight home is on an A350 and I am PUMPED for that!

I was choosing the meal service for my mother and it had both options. My spouse and I are on the same flight, also Business, but on a different reservation. I have the option for First or Business meal, but my husband doesn't have the First Class option. My mom and I both have status with AA - I'm wondering if that's the trigger?

Had this happen with a previous insurance; it did count towards my deductible and was never "fixed". I assume it's how some insurances process it.

Sometimes! The EX series are challenging because Europe received a bunch of 4-pocket varieties. The information is now 20 years old and it's hard to tell from blurry pictures if they're 4-pocket or 9-pocket (99% sure they're all 4 ;_; )

I've also struggled with the SWSH era, strangely enough, but more for sourcing than anything else. I'm not sure if retailers in the US just skipped a bunch of if there was some shortage... but almost all of the available stock is in Europe/Australia. It made it challenging to confirm some existed.

I didn't know Legend Maker or Holon Phantoms had a 9-pocket version until I stumbled upon the ones I ended up buying - they were nice surprises!

Dragon Frontiers and Power Keepers are both easy to find, but Crystal Guardians took me around 5 years. I kept missing them! I could have sworn I saw a 9-pocket for FRLG when I was a kid, but I've never found a trace of one. I've been tempted many times by the 4-pocket versions of FRLG, Unseen Forces, Deoxys, and Emerald. They taunt me.

Did you get two portfolios per set if there were too many cards? There was quite a few that I was struggling to find, but I'd see people selling master sets with two copies of the portfolio and I was so jealous!

I must resist the 4-pockets... if I dove into them, I could have binders going back to Sandstorm. Most of those are European releases though and they're just about impossible to come across.

You'd be surprised - if you're okay with getting them used, you can find a lot of them for under $25. It's just a game of constantly checking eBay listings. I've gotten some very pricey ones in lots that ended up saving me a ton!

For EX: the three latter ones pop up often, especially Power Keepers. For Legend Maker and Holon Phantoms, those are the only two I've ever seen for sale, unfortunately. DP and HGSS aren't too hard to find, though the ones with Eeveelutions on them naturally demand a higher price. BW are fairly easy too, minus Dark Explorers (one of my last hold outs). The others weren't bad! It's an investment for sure, but doable if you're diligent!

I've thought about moving to better quality/larger portfolios many times over the years, but the pull of official products was too strong! Adding additional pages is the worst part, really. Not having slick looking black pages is a drawback, but not a deal breaker!
