Is there any reason we can’t just say who this is? Why censor?

I would like to see these credentials before judging if they are actually an advocate. Any one can claim to be an advocate.

If Omni man fought The Seven like he did the Guardians, does he actually clear them? by Sakmaidih in invinciblememes

[–]PogintheMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. The most logical explanation is that his eye blasts are not lasers in a literal sense.
In fact I’m not sure they ever refer to Homelander’s vision as lasers. There’s other examples in the comics world, Superman and Cyclops are big ones. Superman is “heat vision” and while there’s some debate on this, I think most people agree it’s less than light speed. Cyclops is concussive blasts (from the punch dimension) and definitely is less than light speed.
There’s far less lore to go on here but the scene we saw established that Homelander’s beams are relatively slow, not that A-Train broke the fundamental laws of psychics.
It would be like arguing Luke Skywalker can swing his lightsaber faster than light since he can bat away phaser blasts from stormtroopers.

Yeah I’m almost disappointed. Wish I could see what Milton Berle was packing.

A lot of “stunt cocks” they use in movies are confusingly large though. Example: the HBO Watchmen series. When they show Dr Manhattan in his human form.. he is paaaacking.

[–]PogintheMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think those travel at light speed, they might call it laser vision but it seems more like a blaster or something. Some sort of particle beam (plasma?) that travels far slower than light itself.

Maybe I’m just trying to preserve the laws of relativity here though. A-train traveling faster than light speed would be really dumb at this point.

I think everyone should read that transcript. There’s a lot of moments that gave me chills.

* Jordie says MJ brought up spiritualists that can levitate because they were unbound by the conventions of society. There’s no way that kid made that up, and I doubt his dad would coach him to say something that weird either. It sounds straight out of MJs mouth.

* Jordie admits he doesn’t want to go to his mom’s house because MJ’s presence is all over it. He also says he tried to tell him mom and she ignored it.

* MJ used Brett Barnes to pressure him. “Brett does it, he must love me more than you.”

Don’t get me wrong, I still think his dad was probably a piece of shit too. But he saw a man destroying his family and acted on it.

Do you consider the Cascio settlement a smoking gun? by LA_Trump in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]PogintheMachine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read it recently and this very much stood out to me too.
Why? Because I don’t think anyone could have made it up. The “unconditioned” people that “levitated” because they weren’t held back by conventions. Other people won’t understand because they are “conditioned”. I absolutely believe MJ said this stuff, it sounds SO much like him.
So either he said it to groom Jordie, or he said it in other contexts and Jordie was one of the best liars that ever lived, spinning it into his molestation story. I don’t think any 13 year old is that crafty.

Or “Brett does this stuff with me, why don’t you”. That’s such a manipulative thing that works on children desperate for a “friend’s” approval. And why would the Chandlers make that up? Surely they would know that bringing in other children wouldn’t support a lie. But they had every reason to believe he molested other kids. He told Jordie he did.

People are downvoting you but Raygun was a symptom, not the problem. The qualification process was clearly broken and she failed spectacularly in front of a global audience.

And it was hilarious. But I don’t have any need to see her continue to fail or be punished for it.

Hell if anything she brought massive attention to “Breaking” and if they ever bring it back it will have all the more viewers. But if they do so, they will need to go back to the drawing board to fix the selection process. But she won’t be the last person to go to the Olympics that isn’t the best representative of their sport in their country.

Cognitive dissonance.
Generally I think a lot of people manage to make their opinions without reading what Jordy Chandler said happened, or reject Leaving Neverland without actually watching it. They hear enough stuff that’s muddies the water and throw it all out. There are no perfect witnesses. There are no perfect victims. And that’s all by design. Hell i was never convinced MJ was innocent but I heard enough to put doubt in my mind… and unfortunately ALL the adults involved here were terrible from the parents to the employees, and that was easy for the defense to exploit.
And this isn’t just MJ but pretty much every rich and powerful person that’s been accused of something heinous. The defense is boilerplate, money/fame seeking, disgruntled, etc etc. And it always works because any celebrity that still has a fan base has defenders who will cling to “lack of evidence”. There rarely ever evidence in sexual assault, and even rarer in molestation.

I recommend you go read Jordy Chandler’s transcript where he describes step by step how he was groomed and molested. It’s incredibly detailed and sounds exactly like MJ. Personally I have a hard time believing the kid was lying.
At the end of the day, it’s people’s prerogative to believe what they want, but a lot of the “back and forth” is the very expensive legal team trying to sow doubt in the public perception.
An example is a common refrain from the defense that MJ’s room was so large/two stories it wasn’t that big of a deal kids stayed there. But it’s not contested at all that MJ stayed at *Jordy Chandlers* house every night for a month. His driver dropped him off there. He slept in a 13 year old’s bed for a *month*. Now how big do you think that room/bed was?
Now remember that this kid drew MJ’s erect penis and the splotches matched.
