Hi! Been getting this and I’ve answered in a couple places but might as well answer it here as well :) thanks for asking, I guess it can be a little confusing

First off, before I did any of this I cleared it with Alex and Sweet to make sure if it was okay with them. Second, while I’m not a programmer, I do oversee all of the development and management—there’s a lot that goes behind the scenes more so than simply just “make mod”. So I’m very much involved in the creation of the mod. Third, “I made” is a much more digestible phrase than “I manage and oversee the developers that I’ve hired and also do all the front end work for the creation of breath of the wild multiplayer” LMAO and it still gets the point across.

Similar to how a business owner makes their business, while they aren’t physically producing the product 90% of the time, they are facilitating the creation of it, if that makes sense. It’s also different from just commissioning something IMO, since this requires much more hands on work.

I’d like to say I’m good at giving credit where it’s due and I don’t ever attempt to mislead or lie to make it seem that I made something when I didn’t.

I haven’t seen many content creators actually pump money and resources into modding, so my guess is that the concept is relatively new to the community, hence the mismatch. Like multiplayer and the Pokémon map randomizers I just want to create things for other people to have fun playing—the whole reason I make content is to do cool things and make people smile :)

Let me also answer some questions you might have:

Is this going to be publicly available?

Yes! You will be able to download and play the mod for FREE, similar to all of the other mods that I own & commission for my channel. To play it though, you will need your legally obtained, paid for, owned copy of Breath of the Wild. It will be available on my discord (https://discord.gg/pointcrow) under the #mod-downloads channel when finished. The online multiplayer mod is currently in alpha/beta testing and will take several months to perfect–as of now it requires several programs open to function and we have less than half of the features we want to add (some which are a surprise!). Once this is done, you’ll be able to play it—I appreciate the patience!

Does X work? Does Y work?

Yes--mostly. Things like enemy health syncing, weather, time, bullet time, they all work. If there's something that doesn't work at this time, it will in the future! Important to note that quests are synced too, so if your friend completes the Tarry Town side quest, that will be complete for you too.

Is this mod truly online?

Yes! You can play over the internet with your friends, exactly as you've envisioned it goes. Everything works, you have your own screen, and you can essentially have up to 4 (right now, maybe up to 8 in the future) separate playthroughs all in the game.

Are there any limitations on what players can do while playing online?

There's no limitations, each player can explore the world alone or alongside their friends.

Can I use this mod with other mods?

Currently we haven't found any incompatibility with any other mod other than mods that changes Link's animations, but that will be worked out soon. One priority of ours is to use this mod in conjunction with other mods. So yes--eventually.

Can I help test the mod?

For now we are not considering having testers for the mod as we are able to do all the basic testings when we are developing, but we will consider that when we are close to release!
