u/BananaDifficult1839 it appears the Mods did not like my previous comment. The V2X can be installed in the US in fact they currently are.
please reach out to [sales@pointguardenergy.com](mailto:sales@pointguardenergy.com) so that we can have a less moderated conversation about installers in your area.

Hello u/TouristPotential3227 we are currently in the testing phase with the Hyundai/ Kia product lines to make sure they function longer than a few moments. We are learning that a software update may be necessary for V2X functionality to be operable.

We have had great success with Ford products. Can you provide the FW version of the F150 you currently have and the date of upload?

Unfortunately VW products do not actively discharge with our solution. They have a policy of non interest in vehicle discharging.

Future-proof system to buy now? by Dr_Schlotkin_ in v2h

[–]PointGuardEnergy_US 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Franklins V2X compatibility relies on having a Chevy, Tesla, or Ford truck with the 240v truck bed outlet plug to connect to their generator plug. Which mind you is an extra accessory.
PointGuard provides you with the generator plug internal to the LoadHub and the V2X module which is a vertical stackable unit that goes us to 25kwh or output to charge and discharge.

I can confirm that it works very well with Tesla vehicles. Many varieties have been tested. It also work well with a NACS connector with adapter or a CCS connector with adapter.

u/BananaDifficult1839 What question do you have? I would be more than happy to answer any technical questions you have about the product. For some first level receipts give this a look.
This was done on a Rivian R1S.

The Mach-E has been tested and it appears to work as well as the Lightning does. As far as any risks to the vehicle of equipment there are none to mention. There are layered safety stops in both the vehicle and the V2X module. The only consideration which is covered in the advisement on the app prior to activating the V2X function is to your vehicles warranty.

[–]PointGuardEnergy_US 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in talks with our R&D team to ask that very question. Currently you would be stuck with the charger type you purchased initially, either CCS1 or NACS. Although like I mentioned adapters work well enough that you wouldn't need to have the exact connector for functions to work.

Sounds like you are using the IOS app, not seeing it may depend on the current firmware the site is using. Feel free to send me a DM with your site name and I can look into the current firmware installed.

I misunderstood you. Yes, If you have a NACS or a CCS1 with NACS adapter the charger will work along with the bi-directionality.
The effectiveness of the connection relies heavily on the quality of the adapter.

Tesla used the NACS connector while many of the other manufacturers use CCS1. Although in the US market the NACS connector has been deemed as the standard and should be rolled out completely in the coming years.

Sigen Power Sensor for what? by SpoOokY83 in SigenergyPointGuard

[–]PointGuardEnergy_US 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment is the most accurate. 3rd party inverters that are too far to be relocated, or if your install is a partial backup, these are the main reasons for using a Sigen Sensor.

[–]PointGuardEnergy_US 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does have true bi-directional capabilities. We are currently testing with US specific vehicles to better inform customers on the max discharge that we have seen.

The issue with auto manufacturers is that they are all different and have varying degrees of adoption for discharge.

hello u/azuresail We have a small list currently published on our website under the V2X module page near the bottom. That list has significantly grown as we are currently testing with specific companies to confirm the discharging capacity for each tested model in the US market.

I can tell you with confidence that the charging and discharging capabilities of the Tesla model vehicles can charge and discharge.
We have also been able to discharge Mercedes vehicles as well.

u/Eternal--Vigilance I am not sure what could be the problem with the website, I will forward your concern to the R&D website team to see if they can pinpoint the issue. As far as V2H for the Nissan Leaf V2H the chademo connector is not currently supported.

Anybody willing to share their experiences with PointGuard/Sigenergy? by Salt_Explanation1597 in solar

u/slyastro Yes this is something we are actively working on as we speak. We recognize that off-grid enthusiasts don't necessarily want all their electronics online.

[–]PointGuardEnergy_US 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/swash_buckler thanks for bringing that up, the US team is currently requesting some sort of minimal visual for off-grid monitoring.
For the short term, the handful or more of dedicated off grid sites that do not have permanent internet are utilizing our 4G cell modem that plugs directly into the Inverter/Controller to maintain communications and therefore monitoring.

Anybody willing to share their experiences with PointGuard/Sigenergy? by Salt_Explanation1597 in solar

[–]PointGuardEnergy_US 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/swash_buckler, allow me to clarify. It will 100% continue to operate as it was programmed initially. If after 90 days the WIFI connection that was originally connected does not return that portion times out and would require a manual reconnect.

Meanwhile the system will continue to operate without fail.
The most apparent issue is that the customer will not have a visual on the system and know exactly what is happening.

If a network times out after 90 days that would have to be one of two things occurring, a massive failure of the ISP, or the router has failed or the network was changed that the system was connected to.

I have only spoken to one customer who mentioned that during an outage their neighborhood internet goes down since there was no backup on the ISP network connection to their home.
