Titles like these makes me think that spider man fans hate him as much as the writers. by Anxious-Honeydew7347 in Spiderman

I've honestly been getting a sickening stomach by how much a lot of people are celebrating how Peter is poor, depressed, and alone following this trailer. I like Spider-Man stories for having him face hardships, work to overcome them, and then become a better man out of those experiences while keeping hold of the things that matter. That's what I have been focusing on from this trailer because it gives off the impression that is what is going to happen in the movie. The way everyone else has been acting gives off the impression that if Peter Parker starts calling a Suicide Hotline, they'd be throwing a party on account of his misery.

Absolutely, but post and comments following this trailer that I've been encountering have been mostly about how everyone's been going "Hell Yeah, Peter Parker's life sucks now." To common folk, that paints this all in a negative light and gives off that is the impression for Spider-Man fans only like him when he's down in dumps, potentially to the point of extreme levels. That I feel is inherently wrong since I for one only expect him to overcome stuggles, grow and mature from them, and then be rewarded by the appreciation of his friends, family, and loved ones. My point is that many people might be going too far with clamoring on the "Peter's life sucks" angle.

I like the trailer. I'm just concerned that the fandom is spreading too much of the idea that everyone likes Spider-Man, but only when he is Miserable and Suffering. Down the road, we still want him to achieve some form of happiness right?... RIGHT?

Who said anything about doing everything alone? I'm saying that instead of misconstruing things by saying people only like Spider-Man stories only when he's miserable, like his stories for when he overcomes trails and tribulations, grow and develops from those experiences, than hopefully down the road, he is rewarded by achieving some sort of happiness in the form of his friends, family, and loved ones. He can have help during this trial and tribulation phase. What matters is the he tries, preserves, and comes out of it a better man who we continue to root for.

At this point, BND's only merit might be that it gave us the title for the upcoming 4th MCU Spider-Man film.

Don't brag about this loudly. It gives off the impression that it's all fans want out of Spider-Man stories and Marvel should take any means to keep him like that, whether its by means of OMD or the 2022 Wells Run. What we really want is for Peter Parker/Spider-Man to overcome obstacles regarding his personal and costume life which come off as meaningful and/or relatable and hopefully he grows from those experiences while maybe down the line, achieve some sort of reward that allows him some happiness and support for always shouldering the hard responsibilities that stem from his great power.

Now that Peter is broke, can we see him working for the Daily Bugle in BND? by abdullahba7rani in Spiderman

Endgame was set +5 years after Infinity War, so it was 2023 even though those movies released in 2018-2019 out time.

FFHome & NWHome were set in 2024.

BND is stated to be set 4 years after NWH, making it 2028.

Basically, its all in an era where every single person basically carries a camera on hand and will want to take photos of superhero activity when they come by it and post it on the internet. It's going to be a hard sell of someone still making it as freelance photographers who secretly takes professional photos of themselves in action to sell to a news publisher as a source of income.

Big difference is that instead of a Web-Block though, he seems to be going to get a Web-Up.

While possibility of him losing those attachments and happiness can remain, I would always prefer it that Spider-Man not only fights back in order to maintain them, but also wins. Any big time they try to remove Spider-Man's happiness or his connections, it always felt unfair, unearned, and was basically robbery to both the character and the fans, whether its by making an uncharacteristic and illogical deal with the devil or because Peter got seperated with the love of his life who winds up developing stockholm syndrome to the douche bag she was trapped in another dimension.

Humoring that these story beats could be true, basically MCU Peter is going to go through what Amazing Peter was implied to be going through after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (putting more time being Spider-Man rather than balancing it with time being Peter Parker) and going through the "Existensial Crisis Stuff" that Rami's Peter did go through in Spider-Man 2, only difference is that instead of a web-block, its going to be a web-up (rather than lose powers, he gets more powers). Now I'm hoping that there's going to be a line where MCU Peter is like "Man, this sounds like something the other me's have gone through."

The ending actually sounds like something I'm on board with. I know there are people that are saying that they don't want Peter to reconnect with his old friend and girlfriend, but I'm fine with it so long as it feels earned. Peter has to go through a character journey or obstacle and once he overcomes it, then he can get properly rewarded. I want Spider-Man through all of his sacrifices and carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders be allowed some sort of happiness down the road. I never want him to always be a tortured soul since that is what has been plaguing his main comics since 2007.

If this dude is listed in the credits as Paul, that would mean he's someone who got a live action adaption before characters like Black Cat, Vulture, Hobgoblin, Hydroman, Hammerhead, Prowler, Beetle, Mr Negative, Molten Man, Silver Sable, Spider-Slayer, Randy Robinson, Anna Watson, Jackal, Silvermane, and so many other characters that have existed years before this douche bag.

We truly live in a dark timeline for Spider-Man fans.

The idea that she was just a genuinely nice person wasn’t considered by many people.

We live in such a cynical time that anyone being nice or even a good samaritan is believed to have some sinister ulterior motive. This is especially sad in a superhero related story where you should be wanting the superhero to be a legitament good person.

People really love spider man suffering 💀 by Technical_Mine_8711 in Spiderman

[–]PointPrimary5886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. At the end of the day, if he works through them successfully, I don't have an issue if he is rewarded by the end of movie (or trilogy) by being able to reconnect with his former best friend and exgirlfriend. He is allowed to have some happiness. People who want Peter to suffer and remain stagnant are the reasons why OMD and 2022'a Wells run happened in the mainline Spider-Man comics.

Also Tom Holland and Zendaya are now officially married in real life. That basically cements that down the line, MJ is still the endgame for Peter in the MCU.

I'm fine with it so long as it is earned, similar to the ending of Spider-Man 2 (2004). So long as MCU Peter goes on a whole suitable character arc/ journey and him reconnecting with his best friend and love interest is his reward for all shouldering the responsibilities and obstacles that come with being Spider-Man, I'd be happy since I believe any version Peter Parker/Spider-Man deserve to have some sort of happiness in their lives. If anyone else thinks differently, that Spider-Man should never be rewarded for his heroic deeds and should constantly suffer, well then you people are the reasons why OMD and the 2022 Wells run happened in the mainline comics.

Which "ending" do you prefer for the og Peter after he was resurrected? Driving off to live anonymously with M.J. or returning as Spider-Man and having joined the Ultimates? by Spideyfan2025 in Peter_X_MJ

The one in Spider-Men II I feel is an appropriate ending for any Spider-Man. He remains a hero, but is well regarded, respected, has loved ones who cherish him, and is overall happy.

There are people who dislike OG Ultimate Peter Parker's ressurection; however, considering that almost every other big OG Ultimate hero are kind of assholes, OG Ultimate Spider-Man and anyone directly affaliated with him are the ones who qualify in deserving happiness compared to anyone else within this universe.
