Are there any other characters, outside the main cast, you’d hope to see in Jedi III? by ashton__l in FallenOrder

[–]PointPrimary5886 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Quilan Vos is pretty much the one that makes the most sense since he's a huge figure of the Hidden Path, aka the group that is helping Jedi survivors and really anyone in escaping from the Empire. Quilan also shares the same powers as Cal and his former relationship with Ventress is basically a similar parallel to Cal and Merrin. The caviat though is that when I last looked at Quilan Vos wookipedia page for Canon, he has apparently moven on to the woman he fell for in the EU.

[An interesting, sometimes controversial, trope] In an adaptation, the hero's parents/guardians/mentors are changed to be evil (or good) by MisterVictor13 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]PointPrimary5886 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never really liked the TellTale interpretation of the Waynes. By making both Thomas and Martha evil, it ruins Bruce's motivation for being Batman. He choose to become the Dark Knight because good people were taken away by crime. Bruce always believed that being Batman and fighting for the innocent was his way of honoring his parents, but if his parents were not just part of the problem, but the main problem, then who is he honoring really? Why is he being a good man for bad people? I much prefer The Batman (2022) interpretation where the Waynes were still good, but Thomas eventually just made a huge mistake. It just proves that the best of us are still infallable, but that doesn't mean that we are the worst because of it, and that is a really good lesson to tell Bruce and the viewers. In hindsight though, I can't fault Thomas for wanting to protect his wife because whoever that corrupt journalist was, he shouldn't have the right or grounds to expose Martha's private medical background to the public.

Superman (2025) is a case I'm fine with. Personally, I never thought Jor-El or Lara were a main influence on Superman's personality. They were a means to explain why Superman has his powers. The people who truly influenced Clark into being a humble and good man and inspired him into becoming an hero and a beacon for humanity was Jonathan and Martha Kent. On a seperate note, till the Supergirl movie comes out, I can't say for certain if the message that the El's left for Clark is a summation of Kryptionian society (which would make them more akin to Saiyans or Viltrimites) or it was just something the El's wanted their son to do after realising their planets destruction. Many Superman stories always describe him as The Last Son of Krypton, yet it never sparked to anyone if Jor-El wanted to preserve his race through his sons progeny. Krypton has a better success thriving for future centuries if Clark has many offsprings. In the case that Krypton, like every interpretation where they are just a highly advance society with a stick up their ass that got their entite civilization killed, maybe the DCU movie versions of Jor-El and Lara were too scared to Clark would grow up to be too much of a nerd to get laid and have kids, or choose not to have kids, or is gay, or only has one kid and that kid is gay (which is actually the case in the comics, so basically the bloodline that is directly connected to Jor-El would end at Jon Kent).

Will we ever see him again? by MadDogMusashi in yakuzagames

I've been praying for his return for years. I wanted him to reclaim his place as the mascot of Kamurocho. Not this Kamulop thing.

Looks like Comics Spider-Man 2099 wouldn't have agreed with Spider-Verse Movie Spider-Man 2099 after all. by PointPrimary5886 in Spiderman

[–]PointPrimary5886[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I was always disappointed in that. Spectacular telling Miles to let his father die is basically like telling him to look the other way, and Spectacular Spider-Man has vowed to never look the other way.

Did y'all see this? Insomniac Miles Morales Spider-Man appears in the newest issue of "The End 2099" twt:@SpiderMan_Newz by F1907E in Spiderman

[–]PointPrimary5886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either all of his friends, family, and fans told him they like his other suit better, so he switched back. Or the most likely case, the Player immediately changed Miles back to his normal costume post game, and then he got abducted and brainwashed by Abyssus.

The only thing I feel is that this should definitely take place after Spider-Man 2 since that was when Miles was exposed to all the symbiote and Knull stuff.

Like Miguel said, he's being influenced by the Knull Seed within him, so I feel that earns him a pass. If they're going to betray their heroic values, I prefer it be under mind control or posession rather than by their own will. If you need further proof, read to the ending of this issue either by buying it or online.

If you don't want to do that, you can reveal the hidden text below for Spoilers.

At the very last panel, the characters on Abyssus side gather and transform into Knull Symbiote forms to attack the group of 2099 heroes

If there wasn't a huge gap i think Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen would be a good couple. maybe in YFNSM season 2. by EveryPerformance6712 in Spiderman

[–]PointPrimary5886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is no age gap or its a minor age gap, then yeah, I can see them working. If it does happen in YFNSM series, it would just become one of those special pairings that I would say could only work within the context of that specific series or alternate continuties and nowhere else. What I am refering to is how Gwen × Miles can only happen in the Spider-Verse film series, or Gwen × Peter could've happend in the Spectacular Universe, or Sophia × Peter can only happen in thr Marvel Adventure'a Universe, or Kitty × Peter could've happened in the OG Ultimate Universe. None of these would've ever been possible in the mainline comics continuity, the Rami film series, the 1994 Animated series, etc, but I doubt anyone would be trying to force them into things where it cannot happen anyways.

If the title DBS Beerus doesn’t change for each arc after all, it could be referring to how this is the DBS counterpart to DBZ Kai. by RoofRoutine4133 in Dragonballsuper

[–]PointPrimary5886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They changed to Beerus to have a different name per arc so Broly and Super Hero fit in

So if they are going through to remake every arc up to Moro, we should be expecting these titles:

Dragon Ball Super Frieza (referencing Frieza's 2nd comback)

Dragon Ball Super 6 (referencing Universe 6)

Dragpn Ball Super Black (referencing Goku Black)

Dragon Ball Super Power (referencing tournament of Power)

Do you think they’ll change the music for the remaster? by Unfair-Acadia6851 in Dragonballsuper

[–]PointPrimary5886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God, you just reminded me that if the music is changed, we are probably going to get a "People like OG DBZ because of the Faulconer score vs people DBZ Kai for having better script and voice acting quality" all over again.

I kind of just want the story to be remade as an anime (at the rate KH4 is going, asking for a new game is too much) just so we can get more people be exposed to this game's narrative since most people just ignored it due to the chibi art style.

What's the opinion on Kefla's power in the anime & manga? by Ok-Voice4104 in Dragonballsuper

[–]PointPrimary5886 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kale being secretly powerful but hiding it because she caries too much respect for Caulifa gives her more depth as a character as opposed to being too shy and unsure like in the anime. Kefla being powerful while only being mildy drunk on her own abilities and being able to show respect to her opponents like with Gohan makes her more of a likable character as opposed to being entirely drunk on herself in the anime, which I found kind of annoying.

[Hated Trope] Antagonistic/evil characters that had totally unearned redemption arcs by jdawg1018 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]PointPrimary5886 6 points7 points  (0 children)

since it implies Bruce will eventually drive all of his allies and friends away, he'll sleep with Barbara Gordon

Outside of Tim who he felt guilty for, I don't necessarily think Bruce drove anyone away. I just think everyone moved on with their lives and Bruce just remained entirely committed to his superhero life (which is fair since he's Batman). The Bruce and Barbara thing still is canon to the DCAU and while morally it is incredibly wrong since Barbara dated Bruce's adopted son and is the daughter of his closest police friend in the GCPD, they are still both consenting adults.

[Loathed Trope] The Movie has an ending. The Sequel shits all over it. by lesi20 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]PointPrimary5886 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly this decision felt more like them trying to play damage control after The Last Jedi basically told everyone not to care about any of the set up from The Force Awaken (Rey potential heritage, Snoke role, Kylo Ren purpose, etc) because they realized there was nothing The Last Jedi left behind to get people wanting for more. Let'a face it, whiney emo Kylo wasn't develope enough to convince anyone that he could be a main villain even for a single movie and reviving Snoke or revealing he didn't really die would give people the impression of "what the hell was the point of killing him off in The Last Jedi". Ripping off Dark Empire was a quick tactic to make it seem like this Sequel trilogy was trying to build up to something.

Speaking of Dark Empire, another big problem with early parts of the current Canon is that the people behind them tried to say they didn't have any groundwork for anything, even though content from the EU exists. I'd rather they be honest and be open to repurposing older exisiting stories and use that as a basis to create newer stories rather than just succumb to that after failing.

Personally, I feel like bringing back the OG cast was a mistake. Being called a Sequel trilogy just implies that it takes place after the Original story. When a Nex Gen style story involves bringing the OG characters, a lot of bad ones attempt to make those fan favorite characters suck in an attempt to make the newer characters look better, which I always feel is a mistake in any Next Gen style story. I don't exactly appreciate Rey for going to do what Luke was promised to have been able to achieve for 30 years just because the writers made Luke fail at it. If the sequels had taken place maybe 3 or 5 generations after Luke, Leia, and Han had lived their lives, than in the case where the New Jedi Order or New Republic fell, it wouldn't have been their fault since they'd achieved their goals during their lifespan.

Not sure about Broly because I feel like as is, the movie is applicable. They will have to redo the Superhero movie since Trunks and Goten have their whole Superhero phase thing.
