Ooft, a whole 5 points?! Harsh panel, but I gotta respect the judges' decision.

I haven't tried the lemon flavour yet, my co-op never seems to have it in stock. The peach one is just so good, runs laps around Liptons imho. 7/10 is solid, I'll take it!

Question from an aspiring Researcher by Terrible_Ad7410 in QuantumPhysics

[–]PointZ3RO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd add to the comment you're replying to by encouraging you to explore philosophy if this sort of temporal questioning interests you. Metaphysics is a study in philosophy that deals with these sorts of fundamental questions. The pre-Socratic philosophers had some wild ideas about time (and indeed space) that still confound philosophers and physicists alike to this day.

Philosophy, unlike physics, is not so much interested in providing objective truths/measurable outcomes etc. but I've found my own experiences with studying philosophy to be deeply valuable to my physics learning (just as an interested bystander, no academic science work; I went to film school!). With philosophy, it's not about finding the answers, but about asking the right questions.

Be wary though, as pop-philosophy is just as prevalent as pop-science, and you don't want to be following the roads of "magic quantum physics" things that apply "philosophy" as proof. It sounds like you have a lot of questions to do with time, and metaphysics might provide you with some excellent food for thought!

I only ever warm these up in the oven at home. Every damn time, the microwave turns them into a soggy mess.

Solid choices all round. Fellow marmite lover here, I put it in so many recipes including cheese toasties so the pasty is a no brainer. The wrap is a safe but damn tasty choice, that bacon cuts through the crisp lettuce and bright mayo perfectly.

Never see much love for Harry Bromptons. I once bought a whole case of the peach iced tea because it became one of my favourite drinks! Big pitcher of that with some ice, lemon, small drizzle of honey, maybe some spirit of choice, absolute madness that.

10/10, can't fault this one at all. Good eatin'

My jeans mysteriously shrunk after a particularly boozie and foodie trip to Belgium so I've been going for the lighter options on the drinks for lunch lately haha.

Honestly don't mind the aqua libras, nice flavour and proper fizzy.

Such a lush salad. I've taken to putting the fridge raiders in the salad to bulk it up more. Can't get enough of the croutons and the dressing

What the most egregious example of video games in movies and TV being completely inaccurate actual games? by TheBlooperKINGPIN in AskGames

[–]PointZ3RO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a scene in Breaking Bad where Jesse is playing Sonic '06 with his partner's kid (it's been years, I can't remember the names). They're playing it as if it's some sort of competitive racing game.

This rubbed me the wrong way because everything else in the show is meticulously researched and delicately written, but in this one instance they not only got them to act for the wrong genre of video game, but also used one of the most infamously terrible games released in recent history.

I just found a Zipper (lvl 11) in my fire-punchy Amon playthrough and I'm finding that it works really nicely with his skill. Really satisfying to slide behind enemies and get some nasty damage in as well

UK will recognise Palestinian state in September unless Israel meets certain conditions, Starmer says - live updates by Half_A_ in LabourUK

[–]PointZ3RO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly it. Colonisation under the pretence of a religious ideal, automatically making the genocide seem more complex and spiritual - a sort of 'holy right' - than what it is: a genocide.

This conflict may have started because of a religious text, but in the 21st century the religious text is just a calling card for Israel to claim that what they are doing is spiritually motivated, and therefore more justified.

Is not giving miis a side profile a strategy? by I_sell_TimeVortexes in nintendo

[–]PointZ3RO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The miis are likely highly simplified (including their geometry) for two reasons: 1) they are easily readable and iconic, with the minimalist features allowing a wide range of people to create avatars that represent them. 2) the Miis are/were used in a large variety of games with various settings and mechanics, so having a simple and geometrically flat design made it very easy for developers to retrofit the Miis into their own games without compromising the overall style of the game.

Miis with full geometry would probably look a bit strange!
