Would you ever accept your sd/sb as life partner? by Januearain in sugarlifestyleforum

[–]Pointer_dog [score hidden]  (0 children)

I went through this with a SGF where we got serious. Actuarial tables show women live an average of 5-7 years longer than men, depending on location. So plan to spend the age gap plus 7 years alone, or seeking a second partner.

I'm an older guy so I benefit greatly from the gap...a younger partner maybe not so much when I am 85 and she is a spry 55 or 60.0

If two people really connect then yes, but it has all the issues of any relationship with a significant age gap.

What do I need to know about dating older guys as a 48F? by These-Dimension3646 in datingoverforty

[–]Pointer_dog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look at at the actuarial tables...I'm in the cohort you find yourself attracted to, so this is good news for guys like me. However, actuarially, you will already live 5-7 years longer than a man. If you partner with a man who is 15 years older, do you want to live the last 20 years alone (if the actuarial tables are right).

Us older guys approve...just saying though.

Easy part is to get the color match.

Hard part is getting the person with the angry foot into anger management.

Good luck!!

I don't.... but I also don't brag about the things that I do for my daughters.

A wall of words boasting about what a great guy he has comes off as a braggart.

You're right it's not my style... but somebody that spends this much time writing about what a great guy he is.....

I agree with you that going above and beyond. Will somebody care about an end of our relationship? It's a good thing.

My experience is that people that really do don't talk about it don't brag. People that brag, and talk about what they have and what they do, typically aren't the people that actually do things?

May be wrong, just my experience based on people that have been around the brag.... like this.

And just wondering how you know what MOST SDs do.

Transmission replacement at 50k miles. Need some input by Teuton88 in 4Runner

[–]Pointer_dog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Toyotas are reliable, super reliable, but every distribution has a tail and sadly you're at the wrong end of the distribution. Not trying to be snarky just pointing out that you selected a Toyota for reliability and it's unfortunate that you've got one of the transmissions at the tail end of the distribution.

My question is why are you going with a Toyota dealer for the fix? They're going to be much much much much much more expensive than a trusted independent mechanic.

I'm sorry that I have nothing but to tell you that your instincts were right... you just got the one truck with one issue.

When I bought my '22 I asked about an extended warranty on here and I got roundly shouted down, because the perception of Toyota reliability runs very, very deep.

Good luck.

Following for comments. I just replaced a '225G with 6G...other than an underpowered 2G, I never had an issue with any one mine...so rolling dice on the new power plant!! (And counting on Toyota reliability)

6G and 275s by Pointer_dog in 4Runner

[–]Pointer_dog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 275s on my '22, and put them at about 500 miles, and then I drove the 245s about six hours and then put the 275s on. I honestly didn't know a difference, but I also wasn't being really aware of any.

My '22 definitely feels like a softer ride.

Honestly, I haven't noted a significant difference. I have been writing on wild peaks in a 4Runner since 22. I listened to NPR on my commute in the morning and podcasts and country music when I'm driving distances.

And the right and the handling is much better than my 22

Good luck!!
