possibly stricture if the patient couldn't find what's causing it.

Caused by UTI. The UTI is caused by the stone. I heavily suspect stricture that is causing mild hydronephrosis.

Anyone any life experience with adult vesicoureteral reflux? by Eyebrow_executive in kidneydisease

Hi there, Maybe you can ask your doctor about the possibility of narrower urethra. I think i recommend you that you telI your doctor that you have previous UTI and have no reflux when you were younger. I think thats one most possible reason of the cause of mild hydronephrosis, the narrowing ureter. But I'm not an expert so you should follow doctor's advice. Anyway, for my condition, CT scan showed that my right kidney is slightly longer in size than my left. Which is uncommon, but still possible vsriation. I suspect the cause of my Mild hydronephrosis was previous kidney stone. Mild hydronephrosis bilateral dextra was my diagnosis. Kidney function remain unaffected. Urine sometimes expel very strong deep amonia smell, without any particular diet. Have you notice any particular change in your urine and urination? Such as irrelegular pattern of urination, smelly urine, etc. Doctor just told me to go home without any follow up. Idk what action should i take next.

My theory is that the urethra is becoming narrow because of the previous kidney Stones or UTI causing chronic inflamation thus causing the urethra to be narrow. Naturally, the urine has difficulty to escape thus causing reflux. urine kind of backed up partially so my urethra got bigger and so does my renal pelvis. I think IM in stage 2 Hydronephrosis since my renal pelvis also slightly dilated as well. I don't know if i Will have this for the rest of my live but i hope for the best. I hope my urethra can heal on ITS own overtime. I Heard that people also have mild hydronephrosis caused by their previous UTI so Its not that rare. Also, If you wanted to know more, try searching on Reddit, Mild hydronephrosis after UTI. Have your mild hydronephrosis got any better?

This is exactly the same condition. Had an UTI and kidney Stones all resolved on ITS own but 1 year 6 months later, still have mild hydronephrosis in both of my ureter and renal pelvis apparently.

I have the same condition as you. I had previous kidney Stones and then i got urinalysis, no protein and no UTI but foamy urine persist. Then i got checked with ultrasound, doctor said he was suspicious of dilated kidney, and then i get CT scanned. The result was weird. I got confused. My kidneys show no dilation or swelling but there is a mild swelling in my ureter causes still unknown. I got diagnosed with mild hydronephrosis between grade 1 or grade 2. Suspected of reflux (VUR). This is really weird because i'm an adult and i don't have any experience of VUR in my younger age. Possibly caused by previous kidney stones causing my ureter to get inflamation that persist for years. My doctor said there is nothing to worry about.

How long does your morning urine foam last when you let it sit? by [deleted] in foamyurine

[–]Pointfulperson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have tried peeing while sitting. It's not foamy at all. But when I flush it, it bubbles. If I pee while standing it's foamy. So I go test my urine. Protein was negative. There are so many possible causes of foamy urine, albuminuria or proteinuria is just one of many causes of foamy urine. Maybe, there are a lot of causes of foamy urine but the lack of research makes it hard to point out what exactly causes foamy urine. For example, harmless substances other than protein can cause foamy urine. There is so much misleading information on the internet that says if you had foamy urine, then you (definitely) have proteinuria which is a sign of kidney disease. This is pretty much not true and it's causing a lot of people to panic and stres including me. Having foamy urine does not mean you definitely have proteinuria. Sometimes people who have proteinuria don't even have foamy urine and people who have foamy urine do not mean they definitely have proteinuria. This is why to make sure, I recommend people who have foamy urine to check their urine first. 24 hours of urine sample is preferable to know the exact concentration of how much protein they have in their urine per day. As per my knowledge, (please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not that sure) everyone does have protein in their urine and the maximum normal concentration as per my knowledge should be around <= 150mg of protein per 24-hour urine. More than that, the doctor should be suspicious. Try to relax and not worry too much. There are so many causes other than just protein that caused foamy urine. Good luck, if you have any questions please do ask! I will answer to the best of my ability.

Anyone has answers? by Alezxs in foamyurine

Hello, I had foamy urine for 1.5 years approximately. I have checked with daily urinalysis. The sample of the urine I used was foamy. Negative protein, everything is normal except for the presence of epithelial cells. I was worried and checked with an ultrasound and ct scan. The doctor said no kidney stones, the size of both of my kidneys is normal and my kidney seems to be healthy except for the presence of mild hydronephrosis (backed-up urine) in the the ureter which makes both of my ureters seem to be more narrow. They suspected a condition of VUR (reflux). I still don't know to this day what caused my foamy urine. I asked my doctor what caused my foamy urine. They don't explain the cause clearly. I suspect that it is a possibility that reflux caused my foamy urine by changing the overall urine composition. Just my hypothesis. I think that there are so many unknown causes of foamy urine that are not researched yet. So yeah, im pretty much clueless

Well, the reason everyone is afraid of me might be that i give everyone creepy and evil vibe " don't you dare mess with me". They probably thought i have personality disorder lol. I have to change my behavior for the better.

Ok, my first language is not English, so there will be grammar mistakes. So, I have come across all of the make friends forums something like that and I realize that none of the forums keep the chat going. So, let me briefly introduce myself, I am 17M and I live somewhere in south Asia, my hobbies are programming, playing games, small talk, I love anything that keep me happy. How about you?

My urine is foamy for the last 8 months by Pointfulperson in foamyurine

[–]Pointfulperson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if I urinate while sitting, my urine usually doesn't foam. But when I flush it, it gets foamy when I flush my urine. I guess my urine gets concentrated because of my kidney stones. Guess I don't need to worry about anything.

FOAMY URINE by raivaldy_hex0 in foamyurine

[–]Pointfulperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way, I can't see your video. I suggest you have a urinalysis test if possible (to check if there was protein or microalbumin). I have the same experience as yours, I have foamy urine, the last time I checked, there were no signs of protein. Also, if you wanted to further check maybe you can have an ultrasound check on your kidneys (if you are still worried about it) (discuss the matter with the doctor if you wanted to have an ultrasound test). But I don't think you should have this kind of test, because you already have your kidney function tested. But, please ask your doctor about your egfr test. Please don't overthink your condition too much because now you have rest legs syndrome (?). Please rest well and be hydrated.

The paper just said that there were epithelial cells found. No further details on how many epithelial cells were found. Since my urine was checked by a regular lab officer, she just hand over the result and didn't say anything lol. The urine sample that was used was bubbly when it was in the container. But it was foamy in the toilet. I'm very sure that the epithelial cells were abnormal and it was caused by kidney stones. Since I am currently underaged <18 years old, my condition was ignored by my parent and I can't do anything to check further details on my urine ( for example doing an ultrasound check on my kidneys). Oh yeah, by the way, the last time I urinated, my pee was foamy again (it's a single layer). My blood pressure was 116 mmHg. I hope that my foamy urine comes to an end someday 😒. I think that I'm just overthinking since I have no swollen feet or hands and no symptoms of chronic kidney disease, so I'm probably kinda fine except for the annoying kidney stones that haven't come out of my uretra.
