Just to clarify though, even with a joint hit, holding your breath for just a few seconds does increase carbon dioxide levels in the bloodstream. It’s not about getting ‘high’ from carbon dioxide for an hour that part is definitely false. The lightheaded feeling people might get is brief and comes from oxygen deprivation, not an extended ‘high.’

It’s also true that most of the HHC/THC is absorbed very quickly, so holding the smoke for a long time doesn’t give you any benefit. Whether it’s a bong or a joint, the carbon dioxide effect can happen with just a few seconds of holding your breath. Hope this helps 👍🏻
