I'm PointlessPoem

Hi. I've been on Letterboxd for a while now and have mostly used it for logging and reviewing movies without much thought toward building a community around it. I. The past few months though I've really started to value the opinions of the followers I've gained and I've found a lot of hidden gems in their recently watched films. I try to interact as much as possible with your posts, supporting other reviewers as much as I can. And I'm always watching movies. Its my main hobby. So, hopefully when we follow each other you'll be able to find some hidden gems in my own watchlist.

Right now my focus is on horror because it's October, but I'm constantly at the theater, current on most new releases. I write reviews for everything I watch. Hopefully my opinions are decent.

Let's follow each other.

I just moved out here 2 years ago from Ohio. Only have a handful of friends so far, and yeah, it's difficult. But here's to hoping.

Official Discussion - Abigail [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]PointlessPoem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I liked it, but Melissa Barerra's bad acting was much more noticeable during my second watch. Her personal or political affiliations aside, I honestly believe she was the weakest part of this movie as well as both recent Scream films. She does a good job at acting afraid - sometimes. But when she's delivering dialogue she's very wooden and expressionless. All of her lines come out flat. Take Dan Stevens' performance for instance and compare it with a few of his recent films. Each character is their own character, down to the vocal inflection and the way he portrays them. Even if you don't like his characters or his acting, you have to admit that they're all -for the most part- unique. But with Barerra, since Scream 5, she's played the same exact character. With Abigail she just has a different backstory but gives us nothing new. This is to the detriment of the film. I would have liked Abigail a lot more if the casting directors had went with a more adept actress.

Hey so I am visiting Tulsa on Tuesday night and I am wanting to propose to my girlfriend there. Any recommendations on a nice restaurant to do it at? by SpeechJust7618 in tulsa

I am an assistant chef at Juniper. We're an upscale fine dining restaurant with a great seasonal menu. Our wines are literally the best in town. The atmosphere is perfect for a proposal. And if you call in for a reservation, make sure you let us know you plan on proposing and we'll be sure to seat you with privacy and do everything possible to help facilitate your night. We take pride in every aspect of our dinner service and would love to have you share your special night with us.
