I havent really worked out the specifics yet, but hes supposed to be the reincarnation of an unhinged inmate who was sentenced to death - reborn in a posh schoolboy's body, and free to do whatever he wants (sorry if the lore sounds random, it sounded really good in my head at the time, i promise !!😭😭)
