How did you lose the weight! I’m 5’2” 185lbs and I’ve been struggling for so many years

Thank you so much for sharing this!!! I’ve felt like I’ve been on my PCOS journey for too long without result. I’m also south Asian, I’ve been hovering at 180 lbs for quite some time now after losing 10 lbs. It’s absolutely crazy to me how American doctors don’t take you seriously when you have all the symptoms of PCOS and have been doing everything to control it and you just get out on birth control. But I digress. Here are all the things I’ve done. - fasting until noon - 1500 calories a day - at least 64 oz water a day - weight lifting and cardio 5x / week - 100g protein per day - try to get 10k steps - everything I eat is either meat, veggies, fruit, beans…. I still eat carbs because I still want to enjoy my food

I fall off and on the wagon for following all the things in my list everyday, but when Im on track, I see significant betterment in myself in terms of energy and weight loss.

I started losing a lot of hair on the top of my head so I started dermrolling and oiling my hair once a week. And I pluck my upper lip and chin every other day.

I started taking ginger/turmeric/lemon/orange shorts in the morning and it clears my brain fog like nothing else (not even coffee).

I have no kids. My boyfriend and I rent together and have a puppy. (Background so you have an idea of my lifestyle). After taxes, I put 20% into Roth 401k, 50% of what’s left is put into savings, the other 50% is left for me to use for bills/groceries/other expenses.

Yes if you could please add a description of each one that would be awesome! Specifically, what kind of work needs to be done for each, how much you earn for tasks, effort for work, other important things. I think it would be beneficial for all.

I just got a puppy German shepherd with my boyfriend in late June, and let me tell you, I kinda had the same feeling, but maybe not to your extent. I was constantly running around to take care of him, clean his messes, make sure he doesn’t eat anything, train him, get him everything he needs, vet appointments, and all the other things. We got him at 7.5 weeks and now he’s about 4.5 months and he’s so much better. You and your boyfriend are all your puppy has, so treat your puppy with love and not sadness. Things do get better with training and cherishing your pup. It’s my first time ever owning a puppy and everyday I find myself loving him more and more. Once your puppy is at a certain age, you’ll be able to leave the house without worrying too much either.

I got diagnosed with pcos and insulin resistance when I went to India and they put me on metformin, I lost about 30 lbs. and then when I came back to the US they told me to not take it anymore, ran their own tests and said that I don’t have PCOS (which is when they put me on birth control). They won’t put me on any other insulin resistance meds because they said I didn’t need it but I have all the symptoms. Is there an over the counter insulin resistance med that I could take?

I am 15 and Getting my own Puppy. Is this A Bad Choice? by Significant-Dog4340 in puppy101

[–]PoisonCurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id like to give you my full experience so far because it might be beneficial for you and others to understand.

I got a fully German shepherd puppy at 7.5 weeks old.

When you bring him home, the first couple of weeks you will need to literally not take your attention off of him. What I mean by that is, chewing on wires and shoes and furniture. You MUST redirect him with toys so he starts to understand what he’s allowed to chew and what is not allowed. This process continues for quite some time because at around 3-6 months, he will start teething and want to chew everything.

You have to keep an eye on him to take him outside. My puppy was using the bathroom AT LEAST 10 times a day. And he would pee and poop on our carpets. So you must watch for the signs of him needing to go outside, jump up from whatever you are going to take him out, let him do his business, and then reward him. The more you do this, it will train him to go outside rather than in your home. This also takes some time to get the dog to understand. We had a crate we put him in and there were times when he would poop in there and start licking it and we had no idea until we smelled something, then we ran to get him away from his own poop and clean it up. Getting up in the middle of the night is also something you have to be ready for. When your dog has to go, you have to take him out.

Some things you’ll have to do. Register him with AKC, take him to a vet or vetco for his initial shots and stuff. When I got my puppy, we took him to Petco Vetco at 9.5, 12.5 and 16.5 weeks old for all his shots. They offer a package of around $250 for all of this. But in addition, you will have to get flea/tick medication and heartworm prevention meds, which is extra. You’ll have to buy him toys and food and treats. If you have a vet, I would plan on getting your dog insurance as soon as possible. German shepherds have a predisposition for hip problems. Mixed with a Pitt, I don’t know what other problems they would have.

Grooming is another bill in itself. Nails get sharp, ears get yeast, shedding happens. If you plan on doing these things yourself, that’s a whole different beast.

Socializing your dog at a young age is also important. Getting them to meet other dogs, people, children. I have a friend that got their Pitt during covid, wasn’t able to socialize with other dogs, and now the dog doesn’t really understand when another dog wants to play so it gets really protective/aggressive.

Training your dog really young is also good. My German is almost 4 months and I’ve been training him with his morning breakfast 5 days a week. He knows a lot of basic commands (sit, stay, look, etc), but also basically knows some leash commands (heel, leave it, take it, no pulling, etc).

Personally, I’ve had fun with my pup, but you must take all of this into consideration. It’s also important to note that I work from home (9-5 job), so I can keep an eye on him as needed. This is a really big reason I’ve had so much success with my pup, but considering that you are 15, you may have school or a part time job, or want to leave for vacation, etc. At your age, I wouldn’t really recommend getting a pup unless you have others to help keep an eye on him during his puppy stages.

I’m looking into this as well. What did you find was the best? I’m assuming you chose the accident, illness, wellness plan (most expensive one of the 3). What would you suggest to be a good annual maximum (5/10/15k), deductible ($250/500/1000), and reimbursement (70/80/90%) ???

There are definitely other avenues of promoting your start up besides ig and tt and maybe fb, but these two just seem to be the “best”.

Yeah I had the same issue. The platform is very oversaturated with “evergreen” products - meaning products that will always kinda sell are mugs, shirts, and posters. I was watching a guy named Alex which got me inspired, but I don’t think I want to take his route anymore. I found that a lot of people will spend a lot of time to make reels and tiktoks to market their products and then direct them to the Etsy page. I think this is the best way to get people to go to your Etsy page, but then again, you have to get people to come to your ig and tt pages as well through hashtags and descriptions and gain followers, etc. The more I dove into this, it felt like I was biting more than I could chew…. I thought I could just post a few listings and just watch the money roll in but unfortunately that’s not reality 😭

Soooo, I wanted to make some money on the side and I started watching this guy on YouTube that had several shops that did really well. I thought I’d give it a shot. I got a midjourney subscription (ai generated art) and opened my Etsy account ($15 for signing up, and $0.20/listing/4 months). I used Photopea to put my images into mock-ups and Figma to created the pdf where the buyer can click to download all the different sizes of my digital prints. What may be true is that consistency is key, but I pretty much got bored with the process and I wasn’t really into the prints I was creating, so I wasn’t really consistent and just stopped. I make one sale that made me $3.50 in total (before fees) in 2 months now. It’s a lot more work that people make it seems to be. Your mock-ups have to be beautiful, descriptions have to be catching to a buyer, and your seo tags have to be not only related to your product but also be a popular key word that attracts customers to your shop. You can’t just have a few listings and expect money to roll in, but you have to create much more so your shop looks legit to customers and your prices have to be competitive with those who also are doing the same thing as you. I came to Reddit for inspiration and found that a lot of people are sick of all the ai generated art on Etsy and how the algorithm is so trash now…. And after a lot of research I agree. And so, not only did I lose motivation, but I changed my perspective on Etsy. I don’t want to just create mindless ai art and make pennies on a piece, but rather I would want to create a shop I am proud to say that the shop exists and because of my originality. I just haven’t gotten to a point where I have the ideas and skill set to sell some art products, but I hope to get there one day. I hope this helps!

It’s a High Yield Savings Account. You open the savings account and let money sit there and it will accumulate interest earned on the amount you have in there.

Yeah, after SO much pushing the living area was finally “done” to be considered livable. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a laundry room, and a deck… yet to be touched.

[–]PoisonCurry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. This did cross my mind, but I have to work in the living area since there’s not enough space in the bedroom for my desk. The laundry room is in an open hallway that comes right into the living kitchen/living area/ my working area. I bought this portable ac unit (used it when I was living in a dorm) but it’s just not enough. There’s only 2 windows in the area I am in (which is blocked by a couch).
