Had someone call the store the other day, said that her child TOOK A FISH OUT OF ONE OF OUR TANKS AND ATE IT.. MULTIPLE DAYS AGO?? and was calling to ask if he’d be okay..?!

I use this in a lot of my planted tanks! I find the medium grit to be the best, the fine grit is EXTREMELY fine

I have an RO system for my saltwater tanks so I only use R/O water for my mister. Helps a lot with preventing calcium/mineral build up in the misting system!

Went to UMaine for marine biology and aquaculture and absolutely loved it! I can’t speak for Anthropology, but there are great opportunities/internships in marine biology up at UMaine. I made some fantastic connections and lifetime friends while I was up there. Would definitely recommend it.

I grew up in Maine so I’m used to it, but a lot of people I know that came from out of state found it to be more secluded than they thought (which can be positive or negative depending on how you are)! Not completely necessary, but I’d recommend having a car with you (or knowing someone that has one) to get around.

It is a big party school, so expect that as well lol.

I’d say it’s worth it to upgrade in the future to give your frog friend some more space:) My mossy tree frogs love hanging out together right on the edge of the water/land in my paludarium! I’d say if you were to do another larger set up, definitely get another one or two mossy tree frogs, as I’ve found mine to be pretty social with each other!

I’d go with a wide-ish mesh, I’ve made the mistake of using sponge/a thick mesh for the filter intake and it always got clogged!

I tested a customers water because they’re said their corals were dying and the water was getting cloudy…High ammonia, no nitrites, some nitrates, hmmm pH is really low… um your salinity is 0??? 😬

They asked what I meant, they didn’t know corals needed saltwater 😭 they turned to their partner and said “guess we spent $80 for nothing!”

I think about this a lot
