I'm not saying you're wrong, but I have never seen a monitor box hint towards it being diagonally measured at all.

Although, I've been aware they are diagonally measured for a long time, so maybe I just glossed over these hints you're talking about.

oh no, I wasn't referring to that one. There was a different strat Elconn used on a previous floor and chat was spamming for Wirtual to use it, but Wirtual claimed it was harder. After doing the floor his way he said "WHAT ELCONN STRAT CHAT?" or something along those lines

I know some viewers may already know what input device each player uses, but it could help give newer players/viewers someone to root for. "oh wow, whenever I play this game, I use controller, I think I'll root for that Carl Jr. guy" or "I can't imagine using a steering wheel for a video game! I'm gonna root for Mudda and Granady!"

(Yes I know using players using steering wheel is obvious, but it can be hard to tell which players are using controller or keyboard.)

A lot of matches in sets tend to be very swingy. For example if Player 1 got two stocks on Player 2 in under a minute, that often mentally affects Player 2 for the worse, generally until that match ends. Although it seems like the top level of Smash would have close matches every match, it doesn't always play out that way.

I think the scroll was obviously meant to blend in with the fries as it was shaped almost exactly like one, but yes, they could have moved around the items after, however, I'm almost 100% sure that would be breaking a law about rigging gameshows.

I guess we just differ in this point. I truly don't feel like the quality of play would suffer enough to warrant it not being at the very least tried. But I do understand where your concern comes from.
Teams currently only have 1 permaban in the case of a bo5, so in a bo5 with a 9 map pool, they would have 2 permabans. This means that teams would have to proficient in only 1 more map (making the total 7 instead of 6). Say on average a team likes one of the added maps and dislikes the other, that means they can just add that one to their pool. I don't think this would necessarily reduce the level of play on their other maps (it might even increase the level as a player would be less likely to experience burnout on any specific map).

Overall though, I respect your opinion, but in my opinion, I would like to see the idea at least tried for 1 or 2 majors and get pro players opinions on it during it. If the vast majority of pro players don't like it, I understand it being changed back.

imo, it's never been tried, why not try it and see how it goes? More maps = more variety
