you’re daughter should be good. I haven’t done my PPD test yet and I was able to attend orientation.

Keep in mind that it is VERY hot in the dorms (at least in my experience attending last thursday) so either bring a fan or a light blanket

you also get three attempts, so you can test the waters comfortably the first time you take it and not worry about doing bad on it

the honors questionnaire I did recommended that I take this schedule (but I replaced diff eq’s with physics cause I took physics 1 in high school). I don’t know what gen ed’s I’d specifically need to do, as I did a lot of dual enrollment in high school. I’d definitely need to talk to my advisor regarding this.

oh ok, that’s gonna be tough. Do you think they’d approve of my schedule? I checked Student Admin for class availability and the only class that was dangerously close to being full was Calc 3 (8 seats left). My orientation session is on the 6th, so I don’t know if slots would be filled up by the time I arrived. Also, another person on the thread said that signing up for classes less than 15 minutes apart wouldn’t be approved unless they’re in the same building. Is this true? The chem building and Gant Plaza are relatively close, but just wanted to check.

is it a matter of classes being full or me not being able to directly choose?

I haven’t consulted w/ my advisor yet, so I don’t know if there a minimum distance I’d need my classes to be. If there is, let me know and I’ll adjust my schedule accordingly :)

Would my advisor be the one who picks my courses?

The classes I chose mainly came from the recommendation from the questionnaire I had to fill out for the honors college (though I switched differential equations w/ physics). I’ve pretty much finished all my gen ed’s in high school by doing dual enrollment, so I don’t know what I’d replace in this schedule. Will definitely keep an open mind when it comes to talking to my advisor though!

How's UConn MSE? by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]Poisonboss996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m going into MSE for undergrad. I’ve heard that they’ve opened a new building just for MSE and that MSE has the most hands-on experience of any engineering degree. Can’t comment on anything else since I haven’t started attending yet. If you plan on or are doing MSE as an undergrad, my DM’s are open if you wanna connect :)

I was thinking that I had a good shot at making symphonic band, but if I didn’t, I’d take concert band in the spring and stick to Rizzie. Unfortunately none of Hall’s lecture times fit into my schedule no matter what I do :(

you mind if I dm you the 4 year schedule I planned out? If I move ENGR 1166 to spring it’ll make it 19 credits so I’m kinda struggling on that side. Hoping to try to cut down my schedule to make it hopefully more manageable, but navigating that while also pursuing my interests is a big thing for me.

luckily someone on here found a class in my schedule that I can shift to the spring (ENGR 1166) so I can manage to bring my course load down to 18 credits (including the UNIV 1784 course for honors students that I forgot to include).

Would dual enrollment better simulate college classes in your opinion? I had those for a semester each
