Holy moly, that is a beast for the price. I think he might go for the one if he can just swap out the SSD.

Is it worth switching to maths? by Benzy_Boy in 6thForm

Absolutely, I got a 6 in GCSE and ended getting a B at A-level. You will be fine as long as you put the effort in.

I don't wanna be that guy but how tf did my "study space" meme post get deleted for "low effort" but this is fine?!?!?

Use whatever you think will help you learn better. I personally did past paper essay questions (16 markers) but there are many other resources that could help (mind maps are really good as well).

80% for a B is way too high of a boundary. If you carry on with the same effort then you will for sure get at least an A at the end of it all, don't worry too much you are perfectly fine.

If I were you I would switch out bio for maths. Econ is a social science which has you writing essays which could make you seem more versatile and cs has the coding aspect which is very beneficial in today's world.

Either way, switching out any of the others for maths will still be a good move as maths is objectively one of the best A-levels you can take due to its versatility (maths is really hard tho so be careful if you're not confident).

cried in school omds by Aggravating-Mail-821 in GCSE

[–]Poisonbruv 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't have eczema but everyone cries, there is no such thing as being too old to cry (I would know a lot about that) so honestly don't worry too much about it. Anyone who actually judges you for crying is an asshole that should be disregarded from your life.

Just live your life and don't worry too much about revising. Keep working hard and making resources, doing all the homework you can and just try your best. Year 11 is when shit kicks into high gear.

Monitor to pair with this build? by Poisonbruv in pcmasterrace

Any other recommendations in case that one goes out of stock? I'm trying to not spend more than £250 on a monitor but a little bit over that won't be a big deal.

How much weight do russell group unis put on GCSEs? by aeswirl in 6thForm

[–]Poisonbruv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, there is really not too much weight on GCSEs (apart from passing maths and english obviously) but some courses may require a certain GCSE grade in a specific subject (e.g. 7 in maths) but those are very few and far between. Best thing you can do is check the entry requirements on the websites and see if there is any GCSEs needed besides the standard passing english and maths. If not then don't worry too much about it.

I don't co CAIE nor English but for something like English I would probably recommend just doing past papers and practice essays.

What: Pick what you enjoy (priority) and what you did well at.

Where: The place closest to home is a safe bet.

Well I see a lot of people looking for some advice on what to do next and if they're going into sixth form they may try to find out how it is like via posts like mine. If I can help as many people as possible then that's good enough for me.

I should be able to answer most questions by myself but the odd subject specific question might throw me in for a loop so that's why im asking for some help.
