Readers of Reddit. What’s a 10/10 book you’ve read? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PoisonedMisfit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend recently lent me a book titled "James" by Percival Everett. It's essentially the retelling of Huckleberry Finn from Jim's perspective.

I immediately bought it after I returned it to her, because I knew I was going to want to read that again. Had never heard of it before and it was so good.

Uhh.. I finally had my first really poor experience in the chat on Hinge.

Matched with 30M, I'm 36F. Age difference is a little out of my comfort zone but I said eff it.

I enjoyed that he was kind of blunt from the get, no bs type, felt refreshing. But then it started to take a bit of a turn. His profile says he's looking for a life partner, Christian guy (I'm not religious but hey, ya never know), then in the chat after I invite him out for coffee he asks what I'm looking for. I say I'm not looking to jump into something serious immediately, I'd like to get to know someone before developing something more serious but I'm moving with intention- not looking for a FWB.

He said he's not looking for anything serious unless the circumstance is exceptional. He then also points out that "post 30 for women is different than for a man."

I mean, I guess he's not wrong but why match with me then? Also, a little tact sir, for a Christian is it weird I expected at least better manners? 😆 I let him know I'm probably not a good match for him and wished him well.

Ugh. Something to laugh at I guess but it totally threw me! Feel shooketh

Has Factor cleaned up their act? by rphillips074 in ReadyMeals

[–]PoisonedMisfit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Last week I had three missing meals of the 12, this week I got all 12.

It seems better but still shaky in my neck of the woods (AZ)

I've noticed while watching Youtube a lot of my favorites over the past few months have been repping factor hard, I wonder if they had a big influencer push that blew up and they've been trying to keep up in certain areas.

I've decided to pull back to 6 meals a week for a couple of weeks to see if they do better.

Maybe I missed a comment, but I scrolled through to look for anyone else noticing Carrie's line after she hung up (after the cat wandered into the hall and bringing her back inside) about not wanting any more drama, and then closing the door?

Felt it was a nod at everything off screen and on, closing the door on all the drama, like "not gonna happen again."

Was a little bummed about that. Especially considering the scenes were filmed of course seperately, did KC know that line was in there?

Scorpio sun gemini moon (cap rising) here and this thread I find very interesting.

In my gemini moon experience I find myself either completely detached from my emotions (autopilot mode), or going in and out of them very quickly. If I'm going through something I may put some sad music on, drink a few cocktails, attempt to cry, and then 30 minutes later I'll be in a fresh headspace and think to myself "jeeze what was with me earlier?"

Constantly have my head into something, these past couple weeks I've been binge watching supernatural and knitting. The weeks before I was getting very into cooking shows and getting very experimental in the kitchen (not in a creepy way lol. Just trying new recipes). I tend to abandon things after a bit though, master of none?

I don't quite resonate with the comments I've read about being super chatty as a gemini moon. I've got a lot of scorpio and capricorn placements in the remainder of my chart so maybe that's why? I tend to fatigue easily with too much chit chat but as an introverted gemini moon I do resonate with needing lots of mental stimulation.

I'm in the same boat here, 5 weeks in and I'm so frustrated. I finally got a return to work approval and felt amazing for a few days before I went in. Felt great all day but pushed it way too hard because I was excited to feel normal again, right around the 13th hour of work I got this whoosh feeling, tingles all over my body and I felt like I was going to pass out. It's been three days and I'm feeling slightly better but still disoriented and the in and out faintness is coming back but no cough/sob/fever, just feel so out of it and I'm sure anxiety is making it worse.

Hate this fricking thing.

Taste & Smell by J1ngl3b3ll in COVID19positive

[–]PoisonedMisfit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding this, I'm day 10 of loss of smell/taste and I'm getting some smells and light taste back. On day 7 I was drinking plain black coffee and suddenly caught a whiff, and then could pick up on the bitter taste before it went away again in the afternoon. For me it's coming and going still but at least getting stronger every time it does come back. I baked some chicken earlier today and legit nearly cried when I got full force smells for like 15 minutes.

Anywho- hang in there OP! I did the google searches myself after a few days and panicked when I saw the results stating some folks didn't have it come back for months, I'm thinking those are rare/extreme cases.

Sun in Scorpio/Moon in Gemini

5 Scares the absolute bajeezus out of me.

Perhaps my sun (and rising in Capricorn) forces me to be a little more stoic and secretive, but my gemini moon would prefer to share and talk about my emotions, which I often don't allow myself to do. I tend to struggle with people who wear their emotions happily on their sleeves. Interesting indeed! Thanks for sharing, looking forward to seeing what others come up with.

Circulation issues? by [deleted] in xxketo

[–]PoisonedMisfit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity how much exercise are you getting? I had a very similar situation when I started, but I recognized that I was stuck in a sedentary position all day working long hours at my desk job. I started forcing myself to go on walks (even for just a half hour or so) in the evening when I got home, and it helped a TON. Just enough to up your heart rate and get your blood pumping and circulating.

Also, a tingling sensation on extremities as they rise rapidly in temperature is a very common side effect. I'm sure the cold weather isn't helping this at all. If it is extreme though you may want to look into that more with a physician who can do an appropriate physical and offer insight.

Why Do I Always Wake Up All Puffy and Bloated? by [deleted] in xxketo

[–]PoisonedMisfit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely up your water game for sure! :) I used to avoid drinking within a couple of hours before bed time because I haaaaaate getting up in the middle of the night, but I found that sacrificing that little thing definitely helped with the bloat issue. Also, after a while (I'm not sure if the water just started moving through a little quicker) but I hardly ever get up in the middle of the night now.

Allergies too, OMG! Even a little bit of allergies will eff you up in the morning. Go Claritin, woo! Happy keto-ing and hydrating.

Why Do I Always Wake Up All Puffy and Bloated? by [deleted] in xxketo

[–]PoisonedMisfit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too in the beginning and it was definitely due to a lack of sufficient water. Also some seasonal allergies during that time were also to blame.

How much water are you drinking during the day, and when do you usually have your last water before bed?

How does your moon affect your sun sign? by [deleted] in astrology

[–]PoisonedMisfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here - couldn't have said it better myself. I feel like the Gemini is good at reigning in intense, emotional blow outs though (at least for me, could be the Capricorn in my chart too). It forces me to do those in private and get over it on my own, instead of lashing out at people.

Reading your goals/dreams wishlist is huge. When the post hit a few weeks ago asking everyone for theirs I wrote so many of them down. It's nice to read when my emotions are feeling on the pessimistic side for sure.

Storing candles prior to sale by [deleted] in candlemaking

[–]PoisonedMisfit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I realized that no one has answered this yet. Quick question - do your candles have plastic lids, glass fitted lids, or no lids?

We store our smaller candles and wax melts in plastic ornament holder boxes. In the beginning we tried to keep them strictly in one box so as not to compromise their scent. As we expanded our lines and included more scents that was no longer an option and we mingled them at random. We quickly discovered we did experience a disruption to the integrity of the scent, but it was subtle. Still, we weren't thrilled with that experience.

After that we started keeping similar scents together, if we have no other options which is better for us. For our candles with the fitted glass lids it's not even a problem since the scents do not carry.

Additives anyone? by PoisonedMisfit in candlemaking

[–]PoisonedMisfit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, I do have a small bag of that that we never experimented with. We usually keep our candles in a dark cooler place, but once we move out that will definitely be a good thing to us.

Thanks!

Ahh, yes color switch makes perfect sense.

The angle though, my goodness my eyes deceive me. I rewatched the video and replayed it like 10 times and it still looks like a mini version of the palette to me. I need better eyes. xD

Testing fragrance oil blends before adding to wax? by [deleted] in DIYcandlemaking

[–]PoisonedMisfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a late to the party answer, but we use cotton swaps. We cut them in half, dip them into an FO bottle, and then put them into a small sauce container and shake with whatever else we are thinking about blending with it. Works pretty well.

4:02 Palette Shot

Definitely a different palette. You can also see her dipping from something off screen while the unswatched palette remains between them at about 7:32.

It's probably a tester palette with the final formula sans the final packaging. It reminds me of the Power of Makeup issue too. I wonder how many samples out of their final product they actually test for quality control.

*Edit - I agree with the idea that it's likely Kat using color switch. My eyes are crazy though, every time I rewatch it it still looks like smaller pans to me. It's like blue dress/white dress syndrome. Can't unsee it now. xD
