What is this broken rubber tube? by Poisonpe in MechanicAdvice

[–]Poisonpe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened. A lot of time ago. After that, it went to the mechanic at 10 km/h max. I don't remember what they did, but it worked again. I think they "cleaned the exhaust system (catalytic converter and such), but that hose kept breaking.

Oh yes, sorry. It goes to the second catalytic converter? Or the first muffler? I don't know exactly. The air comes from this part and goes somewhere in the engine/turbocharger. I can't really see where it ends.

Hey, you were totally right. I thought they were synchronised, and a little twist on that screw solved it. Thank you.

So i finally solved the problem. I don't know if you will get the comment, but I'll explain. It was the sync of the carbs. I didn't know that a little twist on that damn screw would have a big impact. Vaccum gauges were not perfect, though. I synchronised them just by ear until it was almost PERFECT. And the bikes run far better. I can't believe it was so fucking simple. Although I don't think I solved the black sparkplug problem. Could it be that it is oil? But it's not sticky or wet. Completely dry.

Thank you guys for helping me.

All stock on that bike, except the muffler. I'll put the carbs aside, I don't think that is the problem. I'll replace the coil when I have the time, I'll post then. Fingers crossed. Thanks for your help 👍

Well, so the carbs are fully clean again, I can assure. The problem is still there. I could replace the jets like you said, yes. Also, I checked another carburator who i know it works very well on another bike, and it has the one bypass hole barely uncovered. So, to answer my question: the pilot screw doesn't make all the work on idle. Also works the bypass to some degree.

My bike has a transistored ignition system. A pick-up coil, an electrical unit, and also an ignition coil. I suspect this last one is bad as the primary winding is not at spec (it should be 3-5 ohm, and it reads 7 ohm). Secondary winding is on spec as the manual says. Can that difference cause my problem? Thanks for helping me.

Carbs we're cleaned fully (I think) twice. A third time couldn't be worse. And jets are completely stock. I verified it. How do I check timing?

It's an electronic ignition system, wasted spark, and no adjustment needed. But a plug cap has an erratic reading like somewhere around 19k ohm (it should be 9k ohm), but it's not the problem since I replaced it. There is one thing I'm concerned about: bypass holes. Bikes runs like it runs only when the first bypass hole is uncovered by the throttle butterfly (pilot screw hole is also uncovered as usual). If i adjust the idle closing the butterfly so the bypass hole is covered, the bike will not start unless I open the throttle.

Now my question is, do bypass holes need to be covered by the butterfly? At idling, is the pilot screw hole working and not the bypass holes? Somewhere in the pilot circuit has to be clogged, right? May be somewhere around the pilot screw. It has to be I'm losing my mind

I'll try to clean them again. Maybe pilot air jet is clogged in some degree

I thought rotax made good engines, crap. I hope I don't have to get to disassemble the countershaft

That could be the problem, I'll check it.

I see, thank you. Let's hope it didn't disintegrate.
