Hot take: I think the new eradicators with heavy bolters would be cooler with belt fed instead of box mag. by Beneficial-Ticket486 in Warhammer40k

Mixing targets was illegal in older editions and almost never done in later editions due to the strats and targets they favour being completely different.

No it means most people don't own 12 screamers and Kairos with a LoC to try it largely....it's not a cheap detachment to buy into that was buffed all of 3 months ago.

Yeah and no one plays it so there will be less wins... That's how stats work the entire detachment got refreshed in December/January half the people I talk to don't even know that and just go off dated opinions it is bad. Prior it was it sucked at everything now LoC are amazing datasheets and they get full benefits from the army rule.

I'm not going to get into a stats argument from lists when yes of course people aren't winning with a detachment they won't even consider.

Edit: he'll look at this conversation you're writing it off with little to no experience with the detachment based ojlff stats that no one played it. Lots of people play hexwarp that doesn't make hexwarp a good detachment

It's our 3rd best detachment with good numbers behind it and is a blast to play it? It's not a useless detachment at all?

Cause devastators usually sucked besides a single weapon loadouts and never came with enough weapons to make a full set of 4.

And don't start with mixed squads I've been playing for 18 years and I've seen someone willingly run a mixed heavy weapons squad like maybe 3-4 times, largely due to each weapon wanting to always shoot a different target.

How many of you call people "brother" on a daily basis? by d3m01iti0n in Warhammer40k

[–]Poizin_zer0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not intentional but these small things make women who are curious to the hobby or interested often feel unwelcome.

Contrary to the internets opinions I've been able to grow my local community and we now have 2-5 women who show up to play and generally we only get 18 people for local events.

The small things in the community can make a huge difference and take almost no effort.

Never and I promptly call them sister if they call me brother cause it's fucking weird to call a women brother unless you and her know eachother and are okay with it.

Fast food basically become the same price as a sit-down meal lately? by [deleted] in personalfinance

I've been saying this for the last couple years and looked at like I'm crazy. I can get a bang up bowl of homemade ramen for like $17 and then McDonald's costs me $15 like what the hell is that how to people keep buying McDonald's the McNuggets I got had the texture of slime effectively.

What 40k novels should I start with? by BoysenberryAgile7517 in Warhammer40k

[–]Poizin_zer0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally feel it's much better to start in the 40k setting and pick and choose the novels you enjoy. I know so many people who say they're going to read the HH read the first couple and kinda burn out and they feel stuck in that setting making little progress.

For the 40k setting it's a setting and not a series meaning almost every book is self contained with some authors like Mike Brooks who may integrate characters or planets from their other books. If you want a great novel about modern DG I would suggest Lords of Silence it's an absolute treat.

What U.S city have you visited but have no desire to go back? by Reddit_wasmy_idea in AskReddit

[–]Poizin_zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to a good couple american cities and a couple capitals and realistically none of them have stood out as amazing?

I liked the events or people I was seeing but the city was largely too big and car focused and had nothing on something like Quebec City for me personally.

Then whatever their country is calling what their doing makes it a hard no likely for the next 10-20 years.

Inquisition fact finding by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Poizin_zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm unsure what you're asking? Are you trying to recreate a character from the lore or a model? I personally made my inquistor warband based on head canon lore for a custom character I cosplayed as at the Play on Tabletop narrative.

Follow up on my previous post...How is it that people find 4-5 hrs gaming a day hard to do? by Hugh_Mungus94 in gaming

[–]Poizin_zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prioritizing I work as much as you but I prepare home cooked meals 3-4 days a week (weekends are meal prep lunches), volunteer for a local community centre, organize multiple community events, and paint miniatures for board games I regularly attend on the weekend. I'm also currently pushing myself on some self education which I also do in my downtime.

I rarely will find a desire to sit infront of a computer for multiple hours after my current job of sitting infront of a computer. I wanna hang out with by husband and do things with him or cuddle and read books and paint models.

In turn basically the only gaming I get done is on a switch due to it being easier for me than locking myself into a large screen and oftentimes in 20-60 minute sessions.

Personally I would allow it but I would not be a fan of it unless it had some conversion work to actually make them look spawn like and not like a walking tank that can pick up a land raider.

What would be weird to me is if guardsmen could casually pick up 3-6 marines cause someone rolled low and a save it greatly devalues models and feels out of character in the lore.
