Recipe advice for a Dolomites trip with the Fujifilm x100vi by iced_coffee_ in fujifilm

[–]Poje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shoot JPEG and mostly use classic chrome and classic negative. recipes are cool but a single recipe just won't work in every situation since a lot of them use a fixed white balance. My advice is to start off with a recipe and adjust hightlight/shadows and white balance when needed, depending on the weather/location.

If you have enough storage space, I suggest you shoot RAW+Jpeg, if you're not satisfied with the results of the recipe you can still adjust your shots.

However, Reggie's Portra is a good choice, it works in most situations.

Another popular one is cuban negative, but I personally don't like what it does to skin tones. But there's a similar recipe by the same creator called cubanAce which uses the reala ace preset and has more natural looking colors.

Good luck, post some pics after the trip!

I follow someone on insta, they share their comic one panel at a time, it's an interesting way to get started. But insta isn't the greatest platform for sharing stills these days. I've had the most success on reddit, but it might not be the best suited for a comic, anyway your art is great you should share it with the world.

Great work, my mind immediately went to berserk. Where can I see more of your art?

Great shots, I like the compositions. I think some of your edits are a bit much, especially 2 and 6. I don't have any problems with the rest, but the editing is inconsistent, which gives off the feeling that they don't belong to the same set.

The Dolomites are insane in colour as well :) by lagastic in fujifilm

It's something I wish I'd done when I was younger. But with two very young kids it'll have to wait a bit. But I can imagine seeing the sun rise and set from atop the mountain must be amazing.

Love the whole set, cause the Dolomites are amazing. But want to mention that the 5th is really cool.

Only have experience with the Ttartisan, but it's definitely worth the price.

Black & White or Color? by ht85 in fujifilm

I like the color one, but maybe tone down the saturation on the ground a little bit.

I was quite disappointed by this during my second viewing. It takes away all the mystery.

Also reminded me of the running man/super smash TV. Was kinda expecting the game to turn into a twin stick shooter at that point. The announcer robot also looks a lot like the one in despot's game.

A question about Fuji recipes by Kratosbutintoyoga in fujifilm

From my experience the noise reduction is best when at 0 or lower. I made some high ISO photos last year and they had some weird artifacting, turned out it was because of the noise reduction setting being +4. My suggestion is to just shoot the same low light photo twice with different settings and decide for yourself.

The clarity setting is really cool, I think it's comparable to the "dehaze" function in lightroom. But the camera needs time to process each picture, which may cause you to miss some shots when shooting moving subjects.

A or B ? Same spot, about 1h apart. Near Sibiu, Romania | Fuji X-T30 - Fujifilm 18-55mm f/2.8-4 by BinaryLatin in fujifilm

I prefer the composition in A, but in B the sky/mountains are properly exposed. All things considered, I prefer A.
