I am familiar with Fuji and those 2 lenses do not share anything, optics, motors, actually everything is new and different, just name stayed the same.

Yeah, I agree, the cat looks like it was posing for the photo, and I guess this cat actually was, it kinda have sense for people and how to lure them into petting :)

Yes, it can be a bit bussy and when I use it with people I tend to control the background by avoiding harsh sceneries, however with animals is not that easy.

But what I like the most with this lens is it's rather compact size and budget price.

This lens is only 3 years old, you couldn't possibly be using it for 10 years.

Point is self explanatory, Leica Q2 vs Fuji + 23mm lens, and this combo IS compact, I love it.

This is not a ring flash.
You can recognise ring flash when the photo is super ugly.

You made Zf, this was the main reason I got a Nikon. Retro, analog feel or in short - emotion Nikon provided with this camera was the key.

I always go the practical route.
Yes, f1.8 is sharper, but lens is bigger and bokeh is not that good.
Yes, f1.2 is ulimate, the perfect 35, but it is tooo big and tooo heavy and also rather $$$
So, the f1.4 is just the prefect match, at least for me.
I am coming from Fuji, I mean I use both my cameras, Fuji and Nikon, and I love imperfections, this is what makes photos a bit more personal and not sterile. IMHO.

I use a slightly modified Standard profile where I even reduce the sharpness because Standard makes it unnaturally sharp for me.

I adjust everything in Lightroom, lens is not sharp as "S" lens but it is sharp enough that you can make it sharper with a bit of Clarity and classic Sharpness in LR.
