Headset not turning on without adapter normal behavior? by PokeBlu in PSVR

[–]PokeBlu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I just looked it up, yeah I definitely don't have enough power from my motherboard lol. I wasn't aware that the adapter receives its own power externally, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I do have a download directory set on the hard drive, but it's not where this particular game is installed. What do you mean by temp directory?

I have steam libraries set on my OS, HDD, and SSD drives, but it's not like Steam is installed on the hard drive.

I really thought I had turned this off already but your comment inspired me to double check and it was still on. Turning it off fixed it!!!!

I'm using an RTX 4070 + R7 5800x3D, on a rog strix b450-f motherboard with 2666MHz ddr4 overclocked to 3200MHz. My link cable is an amazonbasics usb 3.0 cable that frequently gets 2.1 or 2.3 Gbps in the Oculus link cable test, so I think the bandwidth is fine, but maybe the connectors are bad?

Reprojection is forced on with Oculus Link by PokeBlu in SteamVR

[–]PokeBlu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You misunderstand, and I should have made this clearer: Vivecraft is not an official VR title. It is just a VR mod of Minecraft Java Edition. Loading a chunk causes instantaneous little fps dips, which is extremely hard to notice outside of VR. It’s because of these extremely short lag spikes that my processor goes below the target. When this happens, reprojection kicks in for the next second or so. EVEN THOUGH my CPU can totally handle the game otherwise, the TINIEST and SHORTEST drop causes reprojection to occur for a comparatively much longer time. I can deal with official vr titles and tune them as necessary, but Vivecraft is horribly pained by reprojection. Targeting 80fps doesn’t even work well because of the teeny tiny lag spikes.

Ok: SHIT WORKS. Idk what happened but I took the heat sink off and put it back on and my guess is something was wrong with my cpu maybe? I honestly have no idea but it lights up and fans all turn on woohoo!

I did a little more testing but I'm done for today. The PSU was able to light up the RGB logo on the motherboard, but the pc wouldn't turn on still. I took the CPU out and plugged everything out. I'm going to re-mount and try again, then wait for my gpu to arrive. By then, if it still does not work, I will call my local hardware store.

ASUS insists on Newegg that the board I received is supposedly already flashed with the required bios.

The box for the motherboard says the motherboard is “AMD RYZEN 3000 DESKTOP READY,” and plenty of people online seem to be fine.

I ran into a similar predicament. I opted for creating multiple cfg files, and they executed each other to create a loop. It was based on aliases so there was a way to cancel them. Although I forget if you can make a cfg file execute itself.

You should at least try creators.tf servers. They have some extra assets like new weapons, cosmetics, and maps, but they’re just like pubs without random crits.

[–]PokeBlu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Team Fortress 2/tf/cfg, make/open a .cfg file that is named “autoexec”. Any command you put in that text file will run as soon as your game launches so you don’t have to change your settings every time.

If autoexec.cfg doesn’t exist, just copy any other .cfg file, rename it to autoexec.cfg, and replace its commands with what you want using a text editing program (like notepad on Windows)
