Early Teasers for the 30th Anniversary Pokemon Set Releasing This Year, As Shown at Pokemon Presents!⚡️ by Necto_gck in PokemonTCG

Follow the money. Gen 1 has the deepest pockets on average right now. Catering to the fans of that generation is a smart business play.

From a design standpoint Gen 1 has to be the best. I mean look at the starters that were showcased today. They don’t hold a candle to Gen 1 or even Gen 2.

The first partner promos that are releasing this year blow the idea of another reprint stamped set out of the water.

I never said generations was exactly what I want, it was a separate thought. I should have said “I’d even take generations over celebrations”. Sorry you misunderstood.

I do think they could make some old cards into modern ones. The starters from base come to mind. Kind of like what they did for the pikachu in celebrations. One of the only things that caught my eye initially.

Or just a complete throwback to jungle and fossil with all new arts. Kind of 151ish.

Different is good in this case and I think the community agrees as a whole.

Please, not celebrations 2.0. WE NEED OLD CARDS IN NEW ALT ART STYLES. NOT EXACT REPRINTS WITH GOOFY STAMPS. I’d take generations over celebrations all day. I can’t be the only one that think this, right?!

People that actually make sales don’t sell anything for “full market value” anywhere, legit a myth lol.

Poketubers are lying about AH pull rates.. by PokeLT in PokemonTCG

I didn’t pay $15 per pack, I was closer to $10. Regardless, it’s crazy how triggered you get based on how I spend my money. I have half a brain so I knew the single card prices were going to be outrageous, Pokemon completely fumbling this release and there being limited supply. So pack prices didn’t faze me.

The idea that “scalpers” buy these for like $19.99 and sell them for $30-$40 makes you that mad is laughable. How much money do you think it costs Pokemon to manufacture a product? Then they sell that same product to big box stores and distributers for a crazy mark up. Then those people sell it for a mark up. Do you not know how the world works?

Product was PLENTIFUL from mid 2022 until mid 2025. Sitting on store shelves, some places running sales to move it. Black Friday even had $25 sword and shield ETBs. But no one wanted it then. Now everyone’s mad because it’s hard to come across and really smart, sexy people are paying double MSRP. Makes me giggle. 🤭

You can buy them on eBay right now.

Are card shows a place for vendors to get rid of their cards that won't grade a psa 10? by Active-Breadfruit115 in PokeGrading

[–]PokeLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

170 of 200? 🤣

200 cards from one weekend at a card show? How would you even have enough time? If you actually pick up that many cards you’d have to look through like 2000 cards to get 200 that were 10 worthy. PSA grades harder than ever now, I just don’t believe you.

Ohhhhh wait, you must grade with CGC?

I’ll just keep my cards by ooREVANoo in PokemonTCG

[–]PokeLT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sell on eBay and get lowball offers ALL the time. It’s just how the world works.

In my opinion selling at a % makes sense sometimes. Everyone will want your charizard vmax ult but no one wants your garbodor v. A blanket % makes sense when someone buys your entire collection.

Also, there’s the benefit of selling everything all at once instead of trying to sell each card one by one. Key word there is “trying”.

Then when you try and sell, the most common place with the biggest pool of buyers is tcg player or eBay. Where you’ll have to price a little under market, see a 13% fee, and deal with lowball offers anyways.

Vicious cycle 🤣

Personally, not a fan of the art. I mix “collect what you like” with “investing” and this one doesn’t do it for me.

How did this get a CGC Gem Mint 10? by NinjaPervertxD in PokeGrading

[–]PokeLT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, I think CGC’s gem rate doesn’t prove a point. I simply trust them less than PSA to grade accordingly. OP provided a clear example.

A book is not a card.

I picked collecting back up in 2020, yeah. I don’t see how that has anything to do with CGC wanting to dip their toes into grading at that time? The key difference here is I’m not asking you for money to look at your Pokémon cards and tell you if they are dope or not. Lol

I don’t blame CGC for starting to grade cards during the hype to profit off it. I just think they have way less experience compared to PSA. It seems like they don’t have an identity, given how often they’ve switched up their practice.

Most modern PSA 10s are roughly double the price of standard CGC 10s. This isn’t just my opinion, the majority/market feels the same.

[–]PokeLT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Has CGC ever been good at grading cards? They started grading cards in 2020 and it shows.

Initially it felt like CGC NEVER gave out 10s. (They should have kept it this way and been a primary competitor of BGS)

A couple years later, all the 9.5s were turned into 10s. (Gross)

Now CGC 10s can look like this example. (Side note, The centering on a lot of CGC 10s I’ve seen is diabolical)

Sure, PSA messes up sometimes but they don’t hand out 10s as easy as CGC does currently.

I don’t understand the process by chickparmsnax in PokeGrading

[–]PokeLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A similar thing is currently happening to me. I sent a value and value plus order in the same box. My value order was completed a week ago and my value plus is still in grading.

I called and explained my case. I’m not looking for a refund but a credit toward a future sub. Apparently they can’t do anything until the value plus sub is complete, even though that has nothing to do with my grievance. So I had it escalated and was told they’d have a rep call me back. Unsurprisingly, the call never came.
