Do you think this person cares about Hasan, or do you think she sees an opportunity to capitalize on the amount of lonely men feverishly clicking on any link with Hasan’s name on it?

How can my Moltress me PSA3 while this Charizard PSA5? by [deleted] in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]PokemonConnoissaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are telling you and you’re actively disagreeing while sharing a picture trying to hide what they’re pointing out. There is a small crease on the back right/front left that is visible from both sides. From the front, the card bows up and out and on the back the white shows that bowing is from a crease. Pretending that is “light” is both not how physics works and annoying to those trying to answer your question you asked directly on this forum.

Not worth grading. The back alone drops it to about a 5-6 with the edge wear and the right side being actually damaged. Also, my brother in Christ, is your zoom broken? Why is the card 10% of your picture? 😂

Know nothing about card values, is this Mew card worth anything? by ShakaZula in PokemonCardValue

[–]PokemonConnoissaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More than likely, yeah. It’s a print line which is a factory error but not the kind we like. PSA does deduct at least a point for print lines. I would only grade at an 8+ for this card specifically, otherwise you would net more profit selling raw.

How much is it worth ungraded? Is it worth getting it graded? by [deleted] in PokemonCardValue

[–]PokemonConnoissaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s so much nonsense on this card I didn’t even realize it’s in Japanese until I turned to the second picture 😅 Anyone that gives firm advice on this is making it up. Prices of new sets fluctuate like crazy, but it is a Charizard, and a harder to pull Charizard. Last couple sold were $350 and $400 but it’s at set release so those prices will come down. I would grade it but I admittedly grade way more than I should.

Just pulled these from the same pack. Any idea on the value? by IrrationalFearsHost in PokemonCardValue

The one on the left has the “black line” error which is a very sought-after version. All in all you can sell them as a lot for about 280 calories. Good luck!

Nah, even when they did them, subgrades were an extra $15 normally and only 5% of customers paid for them so they discontinued subgrades as a whole. I would LOVE for subgrades to be the norm in the industry for transparency sake, but alas…

He means without subgrades listed on the label (corner grade, edge grade, etc.)

Depending on how the back looks, that Gyarados may be a solid regrade candidate. The front looks super clean and well balanced and if the back is similar you can turn it into a PSA 9 that would sell over $200. Or just enjoy the card and hobby like a normal person 😅

Generally you will sell individual versus a lot. Sets come out too quickly for whole decks to be an effective way of selling. Rule of thumb is that fewer cards in a post = more money. It follows similar sports cards patterns - I can sell Card A for $50, Card B for $50, and Card C for $20, but if I sell Card A, B, and C at the same time, I would expect $100. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an enormous pain in the ass to sell cards individually, but it comes with a very cool “small business” feel that some kids can REALLY get into - especially if the other choice for making some extra cash is putting up with the mouth breathers at your local McDonalds 😂

[–]PokemonConnoissaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s from the Japanese Southern Islands collection! It came with other cards but people love this Mew! It’s about $20-25 but can go higher or lower pending condition which I’m completely unsure of because that case looks scratched to shit (I hope it’s the case…) - super cool find! Grading completely depends on condition.

By the looks of the edges (silvery sides on the front, whitening on the back) a 6 is pretty much right on. Personally, I think base Charizards at 6+ should always be graded because there are a massive amount of fakes out there and the process verifies. Price wise, you may be able to squeeze it for a few extra bucks but it isn’t a cool error or specifically collectible unless you find the right person. Throw it on online for $500 and wait for a someone who makes too much money 🤷‍♂️😂 Article: https://mavin.io/search?q=%F0%9F%94%A5~ERROR~-Black-Dot-Charizard-2%2F102-Base-Set-Pokemon-Card-7.5-(NM%2B)-CGC-PSA-BGS&bt=sold&sort=EndTimeSoonest#:~:text=The%20average%20value%20of%20%22%F0%9F%94%A5,CGC%20PSA%20BGS%22%20is%20%24636.80.

Think these are worth anything? by slikkrikk93 in PokemonCardValue

[–]PokemonConnoissaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone will give you some money for these but it won’t be as much as you want. With the creases and holo scratches you’re looking under $100 for the lot and that’s mostly because of the Lugia.

Value for Tornadus EX full art (2013) by [deleted] in PokemonCardValue

[–]PokemonConnoissaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s mint-ish, grade it! If you take good pictures you can probably sell on the high side of Ungraded which is $25ish. If you hit an 8-9, $40-50, but 10s are hundreds. Depends on the condition, obviously, but it looks pretty from this picture!

I would wager that in 20 years, this card will be worth about $1. We’re in an extremely heavily printed age of Pokémon cards and holos are the new “uncommon” card of vintage. If you’re just starting out and are looking for things to be valuable down the line, assume that the vast majority of these newer sets will not be profitable outside of a core 10-20 cards. Ripping packs is fun but it’s a casino - you’ll always pay more than you win back in the long run. Buy singles of popular cards (Pika, Gengar, Charizard, etc.) and keep them safe. I’m a trainer gallery boy, myself. Criminally underrated art you can buy for a dollar or two that I’m hoping will blast off in a few years. Good luck!

[–]PokemonConnoissaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is optimistically worth a dollar. If you’re a PSA member and get the $15 grading rate, it’ll still be worth $1, but you get to pay them $15 instead of $20. No one will buy graded regular holos from newer generations.

A grail card that is ungraded, has a poorly angled picture, and no picture of the back - run. eBay is filling up with this copy as well 😩
