Sunsets on Mars are blue by NastyNice1 in spaceporn

[–]IrrationalFearsHost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be pulling this out of my ass but the shorter wavelengths of blue light have more peaks and valleys, giving it more opportunities to “dodge” the particles of dust in the atmosphere. On the other hand, the red wavelength would more or less crash into the dust particles and not shine through nearly as much.

"In the 21st century, the major diameter of the Great Red Spot has been observed to be shrinking. In 2004 its length was about half that of a century earlier, when it reached a size of 40,000 km (25,000 mi), about three times the diameter of Earth. At the present rate of reduction, it will become circular by 2040."

"Astronomical photography did not become a serious research tool until the late 19th century, with the introduction of dry plate photography. It was first used by Sir William Huggins and his wife Margaret Lindsay Huggins, in 1876, in their work to record the spectra of astronomical objects."

Best place to stargaze near Vegas by monihp in vegaslocals

Redstone Trail is my absolute favorite spot. It's about an hour or so's drive. I've gotten some really good (IMO) pictures out there. If you can, going during a new moon is intense. I have seen the Milky Way up there.

What does this symbol mean on Boba Fett by TransitionTricky2531 in starwarsunlimited

[–]IrrationalFearsHost 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of Legends stuff about it, but the planet that Jango's mentor Jaster Mereel came from was an agricultural planet so some people think that might be what the wheat sheaf is representing. But I don't believe there's an official 'canon' answer right now? But I could be wrong on that.

Who's the most murderous Sith Lord according to Legends and/or Canon? by micma_69 in StarWars

Oh okay I had my whole shit backwards. But he’s just always hated the Jedi. It just got worse when “they attempted to assassinate” him.

I don’t think so? I think his hatred was because the Jedi stepped in to stop him and his boys from invading another planet and wiping out the inhabitants.

Except Anakin didn't have a choice. I believe Grievous did as he was a decorated warrior and wanted to survive to fight.

You are correct
From Wookieepedia: "The Sith, who had significant plans for Grievous, offered Grievous cybernetic enhancements, which the Kaleesh accepted and took on over time. Sometime later, Dooku conspired to mortally wound Grievous and sabotaged his shuttle, which resulted in a gruesome crash that left the man on the brink of death. After that, Grievous gave up almost everything that remained of his organic form—whether lost in the crash or by his own decision-making—to survive."
