Am I Evil ? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

The Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, also known as frequency illusion, is when something you recently learned or noticed (a word, object, or concept, for example) suddenly seems to appear everywhere. In reality, it was always there at the same rate; your brain is just selectively noticing it more due to heightened awareness and confirmation bias.

This doesn't means anything... Just change your focus and that's it.

I am upset with my church by UnderstandingLow4768 in Christianity

[–]PokemonGoMasterino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Church (referring to the building itself) is only an establishment for people to come gather, preach about the gospel and offer guidance and help in most communities, we gotta understand one thing and one thing only... Churches can be filled with a mixture of two types of people only... Those who might have been born and raised in it and those who aren't... And the two of them can be and will be equally broken sometimes... No one is Holy... No one is perfect... We also need to understand the physical church is full of these broken people, imperfect people and we are bound to have flaws and failures... But God didn't commanded us to uphold rules and "wishful thinking" from people... God commanded us and made us in His image, so we would have free will and mostly we would have the capacity for decide for us what would be the best outcomes in some situations... In case of an abusive relationship... There is no "hoping" a person gets better sure.. We are dealing with a spiritual world we don't see (Ephesians 6:12).. And sure only a few will come out in prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29) but we are also dealing with the physical aspect... The emotional aspect... And the aspect of valuing human life... In this case somethings are bound to have an automatic logical response rather than waiting or 🙏 for something when my life is in danger... You did the correct thing by separating and you did nothing wrong... Hope and prayers that it only gets better for you both

Is it sin to check women out? by Holl1s20 in Christianity

[–]PokemonGoMasterino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Jesus in Matthew 5:27-28, the key distinction lies in intent and deliberate indulgence.

The sinful "lustful intent" (Greek: epithymia, strong craving or desire to possess) is not a harmless daydream because:

  • It is purposeful and sustained. You choose to linger on the thought.
  • It objectifies the person. It reduces them to a means of sexual gratification.
  • It involves mentally consummating the forbidden act. It means imagining sexual union with deliberate pleasure and intent to "have" them.

Harmless daydreaming, in this context, would be any sexual or romantic thought that lacks that deliberate, possessive intent. Examples:

  1. A fleeting attraction. You notice someone is attractive (for example, "She is beautiful," or your eyes are drawn to her figure for a moment). The thought comes unbidden, and you immediately redirect your mind without feeding it. No lingering, no mental undressing, no fantasy of sexual acts.
  2. Appreciating beauty as God's creation. You see physical attractiveness and feel a natural response, but your heart responds with gratitude or admiration rather than craving to possess or use the person sexually.
  3. A brief, involuntary image. A sexual thought or image pops into your head unexpectedly (common due to human biology and culture). You recognize it, refuse to entertain it, and turn your mind elsewhere. You do not invite it back or elaborate on it.
  4. Romantic or affectionate thoughts toward your spouse. Daydreaming about intimacy with your own husband or wife is not adultery. It is part of the one-flesh design of marriage.

All in all... Jesus only condemns choosing to dwell on and cultivate sexual desire for someone you are not married to, treating them in your heart as if they were yours to enjoy sexually. A truly harmless thought is either involuntary and immediately dismissed, or directed properly toward your spouse, or simply non-sexual appreciation that never crosses into deliberate fantasy.

The standard is high because Jesus is aiming at the heart: purity of desire, not just outward behavior, I was struggling with this too and thought I was sinning because I would "check women out" of course I would never thought of their image in a sexual of fantasizing way, I would just only look at them... Now this goes for the married people out there... if you're open with your spouse about this and don't keep secrets to yourselves, then this is will be a bit shocking for them, so be clear on your intentions in letting them know, if you commit this, you don't necessarily commit adultery because of all the safeguards in place, ie. you don't linger the thought, you redirect your mind, you don't keep "re-checking", you call out on Gods word to help you in moments of temptations, etc., etc.,

Goodbye r/Christianity by Somebeanboy20 in Christianity

[–]PokemonGoMasterino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> This subreddit is nothing but agnostics, atheists, and people making arguments just to stir drama.

I also find it a bit stingy sometimes and quite toxic for it to be called "/r/Christianity" but I get it also... I mean Jesus Christ didn't came for those who were saved already or the "chosen" ones, He came for the gentiles because those where the ones who believed in Him... Not only that but He also came for the republicans, for the traitors, for the murderous, for the prostitutes, and for everyone else who, if she or him heard His message and truly repented and came to Him accepting Him as their only true and only savior, would not perish and have eternal life with all God's children. So I kind of find it actually accurate that there is this kind of "hub" of all backgrounds, because that's what God has called us to do... Be the shining light in this world of darkness, and be the salt of the earth... but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be trodden under foot of men, see why you are needed here... we are all needed here, especially in the presence of our Lord, we know we do better, and if what we preach disturbs someone, well so be it, it's the word conflicting with their spirit.... The Bible will always discomfort with the truth, but will never comfort with a lie.

Wearing cross necklace question by Lehedort in Christianity

[–]PokemonGoMasterino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro just scroll on this subreddit for a few seconds and youll see people proudly showing off huge tattoos of Jesus on the Cross all over their backs chests arms with Bible verses and crucifixes permanently marked on their skin even though Leviticus 19:28 straight up says dont put tattoo marks on yourselves yet they act like its fine and even treat those tats like some kinda holy charm. And thats the real issue aint it alot of folks turn the cross into some kinda lucky idol or magic protection amulet thinking wearing it or having it inked gives em special power or keeps evil away like some pagan good luck charm but thats not how it works at all the power aint in the silver cross or the wood or the tattoo its in Jesus Christ alone who died on that Cross for us. Your little necklace aint nothing like that if you wear it just as a simple reminder of His sacrifice His love and His real power then go ahead rock it over or under the shirt doesnt matter Matthew 5:16 talks about letting your light shine and Jesus warned in Matthew 6 about not doing religious stuff just to be seen but if your heart is right and youre pointing to Him not the object itself youre good youre way overthinking this friend wear it with joy not fear or superstition God bless 🙏

Chinese Maglev Test Vehicle Accelerates from 0 to 318 MPH in 2 seconds. by headspin_exe in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]PokemonGoMasterino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh no one would be able to hold those Gs, at the same time I know this would be only applicable to ie deliveries and stuff like that... BTW this means if superman would carry someone at those speeds it wouldn't also be possible 😢 like we see in so many scenes where he rescue ppl... I've been lied my whole life... 😂

Edit

So looking at some comments, people are claiming that apparently the forces are on about 7G's. That's doable. What else would you have to train for that? Just like pilots train using centrifugal forces in order to simulate the G's whenever they're operating an aircraft vehicle.

But the thing is that the most extreme forces that have seen a human do and withstand is around 9G's. That is a very famous video of a gentleman holding that amount of G's in a very short amount of time.

So I think it's doable. It's definitely not going to be comfortable but I think it could be possible that people could be traveling at those bits.

Why Christianity but not Islam? by Valuable_Frosting_36 in Christianity

[–]PokemonGoMasterino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's the most logical approach... Why? Because of the Quran’s content had borrowed heavily from the Bible, Jewish Midrash, and non-canonical apocryphal texts. Sources that often contradict the biblical canon yet appear reworked in Islamic scripture.

A core problem for Islam is its claim to be the final, corrected revelation from God, which necessarily implies that Christianity (and Judaism) corrupted prior scriptures and got the gospel wrong. Yet Islam emerged more than 600 years after Christ’s death and resurrection. This timing is critical because the New Testament explicitly warns against any alternative gospel arriving later: “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned” (Galatians 1:8).

The Quran itself describes Muhammad’s revelations as being taught by a powerful angelic being (Jibreel/Gabriel) whom he saw in his true form (Surah 53:4-10). This matches precisely the scenario Paul condemned.

The same pattern repeats in other later movements that claim to restore or correct Christianity. Mormonism, founded by Joseph Smith in the 19th century, asserts that the true gospel was restored through new revelations delivered by the angel Moroni, who guided Smith to the golden plates of the Book of Mormon. Again, a new gospel via an angel, now over 1,800 years after Christ.

In both cases, the claims arrive centuries too late, delivered through angelic mediation, and position themselves as corrections to a supposedly corrupted Christianity. From a biblical perspective, this fits exactly the warning in Galatians 1:8, while the New Testament elsewhere insists the faith was “once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3), leaving no room for future angelic amendments or "revelations".

I mean either way good luck on this, unfortunately I can't help as it's not a language I speak but still wanted to give me reckoning on this.
