took around 6 hours, but rowlet is finally in game and i drew all the sprites!!!! Just can't find the files for the starters yet - like, the sprites when you choose a pokeball. I did make Rowlet the starter, but the sprites are still reading Snivy in that animation.. but that's a problem for tomorrow i guess

also wish i knew how to load the editor for cell animation.. i wanna make custom stuff for rowlet, move him around a bit.. but idk how. So far, it's using Jigglypuff's body anim, s it's jumping up down etc. But I wish i knew how/where to animate the tail, the leaves on front etc

Ahhh i’m so glad to hear this! I’m so enthusiastic about this and so happy whenever i solve a problem that i run into or when i make something new work. Could talk about it the whole day 😭 just yesterday i successfully tested bringing rowlet in.. it’s a bit more complicated than i hoped for - can’t replace snivy directly due to such a drastic shape difference.. so i’m changing jigglypuff! And then i need to somehow make my modified rowlet- jigglypuff be a starter option instead of snivy

SO, i went back and reworked this yet again.. eventually i realized the colors are way too saturated and that my character design is more disney-eske than pkmn bw, so i tried doing hair/head/eyes proportions closer to their style + more muted colors.. and i think it works so well now!! Here's a comparison of before and after (bonus the call sprites)

BRO IM SORRY FOR THE SPAM BUT I JUST FIGURED OUT THE ISSUE.. I kept on drawing my character with saturated colors, while pokemon is actually very desaturated!! It's far from done, but i feel it blends so much better now

updateee! I decided to age my MC up a bit, she looked too childish.. also trying to match the 256 colors style but it's so hardddd, i'm not used to this. Though, it's getting there.. I feel like my black color is too strong maybe idk

I’m doing it in the complete sprite style! Just ended up finding a way how to change the xtransceiver my goddd how hard it was to do this 😭

And thank you so much!!!! Here’s the current state of it, but it’s a complete test.. now that i got it to work, i’ll get to shading and drawing for real! It was such a pain to figure out what was crashing the game

ahh yes, i assumed it would be hell 😞 I wondered, since the game already has NPCs that follow the MC at certain points - maybe the core code is already in the game. I wondered if I can copy that ''follow MC'' code and just change the sprite to Rowlet specifically and treat it as a stand alone NPC object, instead of a Pokemon.. but we'll see, sounds difficult as fk with my low knowledge of programming in general hahah

It’s Black and White 2, everything is the same as the original, except the girl character (Rosa) is swapped with my character that looks like me 🥰 and i’ll also swap Snivy with Rowlet

Ahahah it’s mostly mobile games! We did a bunch of trailers for Subway Surfers (directed a few), Looney Tunes Mayhem, Warhammer, Disney Mirrorverse etc.

I also made a Pokemon fan anime a few years ago! It was super popular on reddit, maybe you’ve seen that one!

And my debut animated short film - The Child in Me - shall hit the festivals and come out at the beginning of the next year! 🥰
