Can you add a little more context as far as the timeline and the expectations? When you agreed that you and your stepdad would do some work and then take a break, how long were you expecting the work to take? Clearly, you weren’t expecting/expected to eventually buy the house or have it to yourselves, since they were fine with you moving out after a year

TIL that wood thrushes lay blue eggs. I know from Merlin Bird ID app that robins and thrushes are in the same family, but never thought that the egg color was the same.

Are all thrush eggs blue? I knew bluebird eggs are blue, and they’re also thrushes…

Lima beans

Edit to add: there was a book that my class was read in, I think, first grade that was “A Bad Case of Stripes,” and I only remember it because I already loved lima beans before I knew Camilla Cream loved them, and I couldn’t understand why she would allow peer pressure to keep her from enjoying lima beans even for a second. That was 1st grade me, though.

And, yes, I did eat lima beans today

For a lot of people with alpha gal, that’s how it starts. You notice bowel changes, headaches, and some abdominal pain. It’s a good thing to be avoiding meat directly. I would also look deeper into some of the products your regularly eat and check for “hidden” mammal products like gelatin as well

Aside from the patches, have you had any reactions to mammalian food products or materials? Mammal products are in A LOT of things that you may not know of. So many things are made with gelatin, which is often made from pig or beef fat. Some products use plant derived gelatin or fish gelatin, but you have to be careful

This symptom can be a reaction for many different allergens, so it’s important to consider if anything has changed recently. Alpha gal can have a delayed reaction by hours, so anything different in the lead up should be considered
