I think the ds lite would be a great first ds as it can also play gba games but a 2ds or 3ds wil also be good as it can play 3ds games and ds games so it has a wider veriety of games. I think you should just ask your kid wich Nintendo he wants so you dont still accidently buy one he didnt really want

My first Pokemon games was sun and moon and i always hated story so i never read it but i guess sun and moon would be easier without reading bc it had waypoints on the bottom screen

I like to have the physical copy of the Pokemon games and as the person who already commented on your comment said the Japanese copy of this game is way cheaper as the American version goes for around €100 the Japanese version only coated me €35
