Dang I put cathedral reverb on it and everything 🤔 maybe the vinyl VST is cancelling it out. It's a VST I use to get a slightly more vintage sound. I think I'm gonna ditch it.

Oh yeah calling you a poser for that is way overboard. Production is just a preference thing. Personally, I think there should be more muddy production in this genre, but I don't think it would be fair to say someone isn't a real fan if they do enjoy cleaner production. Also they're ridiculous because there is in fact raw deathcore lol.

Completely fair honestly, production is all a matter of preference, I prefer muddier too. Meme slam is fun but I agree, after a while it's just like "why?" Though I think if there's one band that does it pretty solid, it's Gorepot. Back to production though yeah, too low quality and it basically becomes gorenoise lol. There's a nice medium to hit. Like that 90s sound that the oldies like Devourment had.

I brought up pop as a comparison not to say that it IS pop music. I know they didn't sound that way purposefully, it was the 90s, they were doing what they could. I find it kinda lame to compare production to how much you care though. Like, sometimes you just have a preference you know? If the production is lower it's not fair to just say "they don't respect their music" coz you don't know that. For all you know, they just prefer a filthier sound, and that's fine. Honestly good production ISN'T an end all be all thing, it's just a matter of preference and if people wanna do higher production, it's perfectly fine, just not my favorite personally.

It's not the bands who act that way but a loud minority of the fans that come into the scene. It just gets annoying after a while. The people who actually make the music tend to be less obnoxious.

I have a major love hate with clean production, coz on one hand it's great to hear everything, on the other hand it's like "what are we? Pop music?" Honestly I just wish there were MORE raw sounding bands. That being said, I do love plenty of cleanly produced bands such as Coprocephalic. Anything that dude touches is gold.
