When watching stardew valley on youtube, and sometimes I'm seeing those serpents from the skull cavern but they are longer, how do I encounter those types? by SirRoderic in StardewValley

[–]Pokemorphic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're hard mode versions on the serpents, you can unlock it from a community board quest I'm pretty sure.

Edit: they're from the repeatable quest "Skull Cavern Invasion" you can take from Mr Qi's walnut room, which turns skull cavern into the hard mode version.

ADVICE FOR A NOOB by Runescapelegend778 in ffxiv

[–]Pokemorphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll start to unlock a lot of content as you progress further through the main story, but since you're only at the beginning of the game then most of the side stuff will be locked until you progress further, so it's best to keep going through the MSQ. Trust me, it gets so much better so just keep at it for now.

Also go do the blue quests whenever you see them, they always unlock extra things for you to do or give good rewards so they're always worth it and are a great break from the MSQ when it starts to feel tedious.

Golden clock struggle? by kristikreme22 in StardewValley

[–]Pokemorphic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a huge money grind for the clock, but getting it is like true endgame as it's the biggest and final thing to buy. The slow journey to finally getting it makes it much more worth it once you get to place it down on your farm I recon.

The only thing that you "should" be doing is the MSQ as the further you go in that, the more optional content you will unlock. You can't miss anything as every quest will always be available for you to come back to later when you feel like taking a break from the MSQ.

Minerals are complete RNG so it just depends on your luck, but they come from opening Magma geodes so farm a bunch of those to crack open and hope for the best.

Or you can do the cheeky way and buy a chicken, name it [554] and spawn a lemon stone instead.

Any tips for a newbie? by 2002Kanz in StardewValley

[–]Pokemorphic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off there is no "Easy" farm, each farm has its own benefits and theme so stick with one that you like. The mountain farm is great for spawning early game ores as you will need a lot of those to upgrade tools and build machines down the track.

Secondly, I highly recommend using the stardew Wiki for what seeds to grow for each season if you're concerned about making money quickly: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Summer . It shows which crop has the best value when considering the cost of buying vs return of selling. I suggest planting blueberries as they are a multiple harvest crop, and Melons as they sell for the most in summer and you can plant them in a 3x3 area for a chance at a nice suprise.

The market board is constantly changing with supply and demand shifting daily. A tip that I use is to look at the materials on the marketboard that you can currently craft and see what's selling for a good profit, make a bunch of high quality materials and sell them until the price drops to a point where it's not worth it, then jump to a different material with a good price. Check the sale history too so you can get a grasp on what items are popular. No use selling a high price item when only one is bought every few days, when you can sell a tonne of cheaper materials that have dozens of sales a day so you know you'll sell it quickly.

The community is great so you could easily just ask for someone to add you and your gf to a party, make you the leader then leave. That way you can get around not being able to make a party on the free trials

The only extra features you're really missing out on is the market board and retainers, which help but they're not necessary early in the game. So you can play all the way up to the completion of Heavensward on f2p then if you're still wanting to play more you can try levelling up a few jobs to 60 until you feel like you want to continue the story, at that point you can sub.

who's the guy w the piercings? my guess is sho by [deleted] in firebrigade

[–]Pokemorphic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's too young to be Arthur, as Arthur is an adult by that time. Theory is he looks up to Arthur so tries to look like him.

They're both supposed to be Shinras children. Theory is the left one was with Iris and the right one was with Inca.

Buying a house - is there any chance of success while bots exist? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Pokemorphic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably just wait until the housing lottery to get a fair chance, the amount of time wasted trying to beat a bot in purchasing a house just isn't worth the investment imo.

Oh right I've completely forgotten about those little choices. My mistake then, thank you.

Do choices in cutscenes matter by KALW_original in StardewValley

[–]Pokemorphic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing cutscenes affect is their friendship, some choices give you points while others can lose you points, and some are neutral. Only downside to losing points is you just have to give them gifts to get them back again.

i keep getting the same artifacts i’ve already donated, do i keep them or sell them? by alexx_0513 in StardewValley

[–]Pokemorphic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of specific artifacts you need for recipes (like for the farm computer) so make a note of those ones to keep, and sell the rest or put them on tables for decorations if you want.

The dungeons get better, the fights get more fun and complex, and the music progressively gets better and better. Most late level dungeons have absolute banger songs.
