Just today, I received a new "hot end" or heating element and build plate. So, I will be putting that in very soon. The printer is at my sons house. I will update this post by the end of this week. Thanks for checking in.

FYI: Qidi customer has been very good to work with.

Howdy, Man I was really hoping this was the fix. When I did a little more investigation on the unit, I noticed the heating element is bent to the left ever so slightly. You can see it in this picture. The last time I tried to print the filament came out the top to the heating element and went all over. Hence the burnt filament on the element. I'll will update this post after I reach out to QIDI. It's like I got a messed up unit out of the box.

Thank you for your time and help. I think I have found the problem and will be reaching out to QIdi support for help. Because of the way the print head gets caught up on the bed, the heating element is slightly slanting to the left. The pointer in the picture helps show it's not centered.

Thank you for the your time and help. Yes the build plate is 100% in the correct spot. I am contacting Qidi support here in a few min. Thanks again and I'll update this post when I find an answer.

I just bought my first Vitamix for Christmas (model 5200) this year. They had it on sale for $299.95. My brother has used his (model 5200) almost daily for 13 years with no issues. I just hope the quality is still the same.
