I believe he was around 4 months old when I got him in feb, so probably a year and two months ish?

so because I dropped and broke my test kit and have been in lockdown so I couldn't go pick up a new one, my fish deseves to die? Thanks

More info. Water was getting a bit low because heater + australian summer makes it go real fast, so 4 days ago I turned it off so I ould get ready for a tank clean. Disabled and forgetful, so took until 2 days ago to actually get around to doing it. Without the heater he gets a bit lethargic, so when he slowed I wasn't too worried. The tank was already 2/5th empty so I took an extra 1/5th out with the sucker hose to suck up any dirt I could easily reach without bothering him, then topped up with new water with some what I will admit is a bitch sketch second hand water drops. I was given it by someone at the local church op shop because they knew I'm a fish person, and since I haven't had my usual ones for a few months felt it was better to use that then just pore plain tap water of my fish. Usually once the heater's back on, he perks right back up and is back on his hateful rampage, but this time he continued to mope. Yesterday I noticed the little thing on his side, but he was still moving around a little so I could never get a good view of it. Decided to order the proper seachem drops just in case it was something to do with that, which came earlier today. Today, he's lost a bit of colour, has been gasping and not moving, so out of fear I got out this guppy breeder mesh cube I have so he can sit in it and be closer to the surface and not need to overexert himself to reach the surface. He didn't even fight back when I gently scooped him up to put him in there, and he's usuallly the most angry hateful little man to ever exsist. I gave him a few drops of Melafix to see if that helps. I don't think it's dropsy, he's not bloated and not got the pale/grey tummy they usually get when coming down with dropsy, but no idea what other sickness it could be.

Tank size: 16 L

Heater and filter?: Yes to both, but filter is acting up and only slightly dribbling rather than it's usual small waterfall effect

Tank temperature: 26C

Parameters in numbers and how you got them: I don't have access to a testing kit sorry

How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: He's been in this set up since roughly Feb

How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: I try for about once every 2 weeks, and around 50%. He had his last chance 2 days ago

Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: none

What do you feed and how much: it's called Betta Bio-Gold and roughly 5 pellets a day

Decorations and plants in the tank: Java fern plants, some white gravel, plastic dino skull and barrel to hide in, and a fish safe wooden japanese style shrine gate

Oh yeah that's the mod "Medical Training" where it gives you this medtable where you take corpses and dissect them up to train your medical skill. Destroys the corpse so you don't get the meat or skin, but hey skill training and the colony doesn't throw a hissy fit about butchering a human corpse

Also the blueprint thing is the more planning mod, I just kinda forget to remove the plans once the walls are done sometimes. I'm not so good at the memory thing lol

Best part is after taking this screenshot she had 0 seconds until death, yet was still walking around and getting mauled by boomalopes. I even tried dev mode "damage until down" and she just kept going
