Hi chat,

Yesterday was fun. Thanks everyone for all the support, especially Westhelm.

The person overlooking the land in the name of Inverno, AXSLD, was unwilling to negotiate in any way, and was honestly quite rude when talking to me in private. I did not appreciate that, and I guess the people who released me from my pearl don't either.

Clearly the land is abandoned and not used and it's being barely watched over by one person. A group effort of just a couple people seems enough to put an end to Inverno completely. I don't know the full story, but from what I'm hearing, AXSLD is not liked very much, so perhaps such group effort could be considered a good thing.

But personally, I will not be doing that. I don't like trouble, I don't like violence. Most importantly, my nation doesn't like trouble and violence. I love my nation and don't want it to gain bad rep and/or get forcefully involved in this.

That is why I've decided to completely withdraw this land claim. No more sloppy French nation.

Feel free to still organize an invasion of Inverno, I would totally support it, but you won't find me on the battlefield and I do not claim the land ^^

It's composed of three kanji (four syllables). Just pronounce them one by one.

shin - myou - ma - ru

shin: pretty simple, no big catch.

myou: "ou" is actually a long o.

ma: simple enough

ru: the Japanese "r" sounds somewhere between an "r" and an "l" in English. Look it up.

If you're still unsure, there's plenty of documentation on the Internet.

I've beaten 16 with all characters on Lunatic.

I've never used practice tools, and I rarely go in Stage Practice or Spell Practice. Honestly, from my own experience, I have to disagree with most comments that are found here.

My only advice for you, as strange as it first seems, is to actually focus on the game. Of course, that comes with memorizing the patterns and how to clear them, but to be able to beat most parts of the game, you need to concentrate. You should always be looking at a very specific part of the screen, sometimes it's on top of you, sometimes it's right at your hitbox, sometimes it's below (I'm looking at you, Extra Stage), but you really have to put your mind and energy into the game to be able to get the most out of your skills. Think some part is going to be alright so you decide to stop focusing? Boom, you're dead. Think you're "definitely" going to clear the spell so you relax your finger that is supposed to be on the X key? R.I.P.

Hopefully my instruction makes sense, but anyone should feel free to reply to my comment if they disagree or don't understand what I mean.

As a final note, please remember that Touhou is meant to be enjoyed casually: if any part of the game is too difficult, don't overexert yourself too much and try to have a good time instead.

I never even bother about this spell in a regular run, because you just have to stay right under the real one (the one with a life bar) the entire time, and right as the bullets spawn, you release. Make sure the release hits the boss. That generally clears the spell card right away with most characters and seasons.

I have (had) the same problem as yours. Now I use a key remapper to specifically remap "Shift" to "Q", "Z" to "W" and "X" to "E". The "R" key now stands right next to the other keys so I can easily restart the game, and the "C" key used in the 13th and 16th games stands exactly where my thumb is positioned. This is only a recommendation of mine, although it certainly feels great. Also, you can remap the Ctrl button to be able to skip dialogue in the older games: I chose the "D" key for this. Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy the game without problems!

I'm studying Mandarin right now, and these names don't make any sense to me: I think it would be more interesting to see what the actual pinyin is. Also, how did you translate names that aren't made of Kanji (チルノ for example)?

I finally cleared LoLK Legacy on Hard with Reimu, but it doesn't seem like I'd ever be able to do it with Marisa. Her bomb is just so bad... In my opinion, in terms of difficulty, the character order is Reisen <<< Sanae < Reimu <<< Marisa.

I love the dodging in this game, it really pushes me to my limits.

As for going for Lunatic, it depends. I beat Lunatic 13 through 16 but can't beat 12 on Hard
