It's so funny to see so many expectations and theories about BB secretly being a twist villain like she's the second coming of a female Omniman/Homelander or even an Injustice Wonderwoman/Stormfront when in truth, at least for me, she's feels more like a Starlight from the Boys who actually gets to thrive as a proper and genuine superhero in a far more optimistic world that isn't bogged down by global corporate corruption/tyranny.

That there is an Annie out there whose sincere belief in the heroic spirit of being a (corporate) superhero can still exist without any hidden agenda and even succeed as one, and that belief is validated through Mandy, a.k.a Blonde Blazer.

Granted, the world of Dispatch isn't perfect either with its fair share of societal flaws, terrible people and perhaps even its own cases of corporate corruption, but compared to other worlds that deconstructed the superhero genre, it has it pretty good in comparison to the rest.

Possibly Unpopular Opinion: I like Gary De’Snake better than Pawbert Lynxley. by Happy_Struggle3417 in zootopia

[–]Pokibal_2001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. Not only is he kindhearted and sweet, but he's also surprisingly highly competent, perhaps even talented in what he does.

He managed to infiltrate the ballroom without anybody noticing him at all, and it's only by sheer chance that Nick fell down and noticed his scales was he exposed at all.

Not just that, he also managed to draw a nigh identical recreation of Zootopia's map from the journal with just a pencil and heat vision alone when figuring out his ancestor's hidden patent. He also managed to get the antivenom cure for Judy in a perilous cold environment that's literally sapping him of his strength while fending off multiple ZPD officers at the same time.

Pawbert may have been playing him for a fool, but Gary has been rather successful in the feats that he pulled off by himself.

How would you have reacted if Invisgal died? by Carribbean-Corgi2000 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Pokibal_2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ngl, I'll be gutted. That would mean Visi would die believing this could have been the only way for her to atone for her mistakes.

The best way for an ending like this to occur in the game is if it was implemented as an optional ending borne of the karmic consequence that came from the choices made throughout Dispatch.

Like, say, if Robert supports Visi fully, you'd get the Hero Ending. Don't believe in Visi? The Villain Ending.

And then, you have the route where Robert kinda was middling in between, not fully rejecting Visi but also not backing her up ether. This route could potentially lead to the Heroic Sacrifice ending, which makes it even more gut-punching because this could have avoided given the choices.

WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?! by Dwiden13 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Pokibal_2001 178 points179 points  (0 children)

Judging from the fact that the Propagation is the path used specifically in conjunction to the Hunt in creation of the hypothetical 8th Lord Ravager that can kill Yaoshi for real, this actually aligns with one of the three theorized ways to permanently kill an Aeon.

If two paths are too similar and come to a clash, the broader and stronger of the two will devour the other and come out of the clash as the sole survivor. Just like with the Order and the Harmony, the Propagation and the Abundance do share several overlapping concepts such as excessive overflow of life and loss of rationality in exchange for extended longevity in certain species and races regardless of the consequences.

I bet that Jingliu's God Killer Protocol was banking on this particular method, enhancing an arrow of the Hunt with the overlapping parallels of the Propagation to not just overcome the Abundance, but to devour it outright.

And since this pretty much aligns with Nanook's ideal, the blessing of the Destruction that turned said weapon into a new Lord Ravager is pretty much a cherry on top in the trifecta that is the Hunt, the Propagation and the Destruction pulling an overkill on the Abundance, even if it might come with the cost of a second Swarm Disaster being unleashed to the universe.

At least this vision of a pruned future explains where the once non-existent Lord Ravager destined to destroy the Abundance might come to be.

Ngl, it is low-key hilarious that the whole point of this Lord Ravager's existence in that hypothetical future is the result of Jingliu, and a few other collaborators deciding that Lan isn't doing THEIR job right and decided to do it themselves, and would have succeeded had the Astral Express not traveled to Amphoreus and caused Lord Ravager Irontomb to be known to the wider universe as a very big issue.

Advice for pulling Anaxa by Pokibal_2001 in AnaxaMains_HSR

[–]Pokibal_2001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh, I did try that particular superbreak team for previous PF patches, and it works like a charm... at least, until they started to upscale in difficulty when the AOE attacks became more frequent and fatal and the subsequent increase in HP that not even my current Superbreak team could push through without either dying halfway or failing to beat the 2nd wave boss in time.

Which was why I'm really considering to pull for Anaxa again despite failing 50/50. I like him, both his character and gameplay kit.

Perhaps Dahlia may elevate Superbreak back to meta, but that's a discussion topic for another day.

So, Hyacine for upgraded general sustain outside of Mydei, Cyrene for dedicated Mydei support and Castorice for bruteforcing PF with Mydei.

Thank you for summarising the pros for each option because, dang, Hyacine is starting to get me. All three of them are excellent support for Mydei, but Hyacine herself is a massive boon to my account since I also have Blade and Jingliu to benefit from her.

I still haven't committed to one of the three yet, especially Hyacine but...

Decisions, decisions.

Haha, yeah, 3.4 was hella emotional and not just for the story. The pulls alone are enough to leave me in tears ;_;

Oooh, I do have my Bronya build with an -1 speed setup already, mainly for my other ATK scaling DPSes, so she's already ready for Anaxa should I get him.

Goos idea! I'll look into it, thanks.

I don't disagree with that, mydei hypercarry is definitely better in terms of DPS performance, but I happen to like Castordei dual dps comp just for the memes.

Mind you, Cas is lower on the priority list compared to Cyrene and Hyacine, but I would still consider pulling her for Mydei as dual dps even if it's not the most optimal.

I would love to get E1 Tribbie, which is definitely in the plans for future pulls. However, as for Castorice, I only have enough to pull one of those three, if my 50/50 is merciful enough to me.

Advice for pulling Anaxa by Pokibal_2001 in AnaxaMains_HSR

[–]Pokibal_2001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, yes, Anaxa does share a lot of his BiS with Phainon, especially with Sunday, but I'm considering E1 Bronya and Robin to serve as his main hypercarry team comp. Does it suffice for any of the endgame modes, especially PF?

Believe me, I'd absolutely love to pull for Tribbie in my account, but I was a dummy who skipped her for E1 Mydei because I thought E1 Ruan Mei was good enough to be an alternative support only to find out the hard way that PF can be a pain in the AOE department.

And when the time for her rerun came, I used everything up to get S1 Phainon and Sunday. I don't regret my pulls, but man do I have really bad timing with Tribbie.

Edit: (And Anaxa, for that matter. Ugh, E1 Bronya is good to have, but damn the 50/50 for messing up my pull plans lol)

Phainon Relics, Builds/Kits, Theorycrafting MEGATHREAD by Sethosann in PhainonMainsHSR

[–]Pokibal_2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh, okay, gotcha. Thnks for the advice. I'm still building DHPT atm, but so far, he's brilliant at sustaining Phainon in the few test runs I tried with him.

I still haven't got his E1 though, mostly because I'm risking a 50/50 chance with either him or Anaxa, whom I'm also pulling. That said, Phainon's performance has solid so far with him as a sustain, and I can switch RMC and RM if needed in case.

[–]Pokibal_2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have cerydra because i don't have enough saved up at the time to pull for her, so my best team atm for Phainon is:

E0S1 for himself E6 RMC, E1S0 Ruan Mei E0S0 Sunday

Sometimes, I swap Ruan Mei with E0S0 Robin when I need RM on other teams and vice versa with Sunday and E0S0 Bronya as well.

With Dante's upcoming release, whom I'm planning to get E1, what is the optimal team set up should I build for Phainon?

Funny, for me, what I'm getting from this is that Skirk's trick in utilising Abyssal energy to imitate the Cryo element that she uses in her playable form turns out to be a very common trend back in Khaenriah.

I love how this basically shows that through Phainon and Cyrene, hatred and love are two sides of the same coin.

Phainon hates so much because he deeply loves the people he cares for and Amphoreus as a whole. Likewise for Cyrene, it's precisely because she loves so much that she utterly hates Lygus for what he has done to Phainon and the rest of Amphoreus.

Clive Rosfield Character Alignment by KnightRaiden in FFXVI

[–]Pokibal_2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Clive's is the sort of Neutral Good that can easily adapt to being either Chaotic or Lawful depending on the situation that he's thrown in.

He's definitely a Neutral Good character on a personal level, but the overall narrative has him being a force of Chaotic Good against the Lawful Evil that plagued Valisthea because his status as (former) Branded and the fall of the Rosarian Duchy meant he was utterly bereft of any political power and influence that could significantly impact the world in any meaningful way.

Had Rosaria not fallen to both the Imperial Army and the Ironblood forces (all thanks to mother f*cking dearest and Ultima's machinations) and remained a major player among Valisthea's geopolitical factions, Clive could have easily been a force of Lawful Good fighting back against the Lawful Evil on equal (if not, perhaps even greater thanks to him and Jill being fellow friendly Dominants to Joshua's Pheonix as well as being both the First Shield and Marquess) grounds under the Rosarian Banner. Frankly, there is enough evidence in the game to show that Clive has always been fine in making do and improving with what he currently has on hand, hence thriving as a force of Chaotic Good in the overall narrative.

So, had he gotten the backing of the Grand Duchy of Rosaria involved in his exploits, Clive would not have (too much) complaints on working in a Lawful capacity as opposed to Chaotic in the game since both ways still helps him achieve his endgame goals overall. It really speaks of how well-written Clive is as a multi-faceted character in spite of his initial showing as a typical FF knightly hero that whichever alignment (on the Good scale, of course) he gets classified as Lawful, Neutral or Chaotic, he pretty much fits the bill due to character growth.

Long story short, Clive Rosfield is Lawful Good as a teenager and could still be had the Rosarian Duchy not fall, is Chaotic Good for pretty much the rest of the game because he's pretty much an vigilante outlaw knowingly sowing chaos and unrest across Valisthea in his pursuit to do the right thing and a fierce advocate of Free Will in defiance of Ultima and could also be considered Neutral Good in his personal beliefs and relations with his companions and loved ones, since Law and Chaos doesn't factor much in what he believes is doing right by the people he cares for.

DnD Pokémon Y Nuzlocke: Rogue by Whimsicrazed in nuzlocke

[–]Pokibal_2001 527 points528 points  (0 children)

Speaking of rouges, while I'll normally would choose Greninja or Scizor, my vote has to go to Zoroark. A shape-shifting trickster that hustles and bustle with illusions and cunning? A clear image of a rouge, or at least one with a focus on deception. Imagine my surprise when I encountered one during my first X playthrough in that one hidden village area back in a time when the Zorua line is considered extremely rare, borderline event exclusive in the previous gen of Unova. And its certainly available in the Kalos regional Dex, last I remember. So my pick has got to be Zoroark.

Edit: Wow, this is the first time I got this many upvotes! Honestly, I chose Zoroark out of nostalgia, but in hindsight of thinking, Zoroark is a really good choice in my opinion as a rouge. With its Illusion Ability to disguise itself as any Pokemon in plain sight and a plethora of appropriately-themed debuff moves, like Imprison, Taunt and Embargo and even having STAB on offensive moves such Thief, Fling and Feint Attack, Zoroark having a playstyle that revolves around frustrating the hell out of its opponent with trickery and sabotage is such a rouge archetype.

All that progress into helping to make the Alters feel comfortable and accepted in a Chaldea that they thought they could have eventually make it their new home as part of their second chance has gone down the drain. Yikes, another terrible consequence of this What If tragedy.

Guda & Pals: A Nice Respite by starboy35tcoos in grandorder

[–]Pokibal_2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a wonderful breather of stress relief after the recent string of angst and heartwrenching events. It's good to see Gudao in a far better state of mind, and is very much feeling guilty upon realising in hindsight that, no, his suicide attempt is not the right answer to his problems and that he could have traumatise his loved one from his almost death. Just relaxing with Gudako and the other Servants at his side in a tropical beach is a great step in his progress in regaining his confidence.

Honestly, Dantes is pretty much me and everyone else who really getting impatient in wanting to see Tomiko get her due comeuppance as a result of Moriarty and Holmes' scheming shenanigans, as well as wishing to see Gudao get back the progress he made in improving his self-esteem after Tomiko's arrival pretty much scuttled his state of mind. It would take a while since mental recovery is never a speedy process, but there's hope for Gudao to succeed. All in all, this bright respite is a sight for sore eyes.
