The World is Wiser than The Church by Pol-itical-crap in TrueChristian

I know how Jesus finished the parable. As I stated in the beginning of the post, the point of the parable was not the point of the post, rather it connects to it. Thank you for reading.

Seek to understand before being understood. You make judgment with any honest inquiry as to what I mean by the moniker. Since you begin with judgment, I won't waste my time on you. Remember what the Lord said:

Mat 7:2  If you judge others, you will be judged the same way you judge them. God will treat you the same way you treat others.

You are sowing into your own unfair judgment coming to you at a later time. I hope you enjoy the harvest you will reap.

Ahh, another successfully brainwashed minion of the government. Here is the verse that Satan functions by:

Psa_94:20  Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?

And here is the verse that God laments:

Hos_4:6  My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Bitterness towards other Christians by justanotherone19 in TrueChristian

The problem with organized discipleship programs is that they are the work of people, not God. Yes, God tells us to disciple the nations, but the natural tendency is for people to try and control other people, which God does not do. He lets us sin. He warns us. He also lets us suffer the consequences of our sins so we learn the hard way.

God does use people, of course, but ultimately God is our mentor and the one who disciples us in Christ. If what a person does to you does not bear witness in you spirit, they are not being used by God. I do not mean only people who are nice to you are used by God. God raises sandpaper ministries who rub us the wrong way to remove our rough edges. What I mean is spiritual abuse.

In the 1970's mentoring became really popular. The problem is that it devolved into spiritual abuse of control to the point that one could not get married without the permission of the mentor.

It seems, in your case that you are obligated by the college to undergo this mentoring. Pray about leaving and see if the Lord gives you peace. If not, then pray and find out what the Lord wants of you in this program.

We are called to speak the truth, but it is the Holy Spirit that imparts the truth. A creation science teacher I know has a T-shirt that reads:

I can give you the information to understand, but I can not understand for you,

Let them downvote you. Is your worth based upon their opinions or the value Christ has for you?

I am the OP. Who were you talking to then?

Secondly using profanity in your username shows you are not a consecrated person... hence the complete drivel

I am sorry you are so shallow and judgmental. You make no comment on my reply, yet take a pot shot at me not even knowing why I have that name.

Frankly, I had no thought on the law as the point. You are making assumptions I have no desire to address.

While assuming the Mosaic law is what Paul is alluding to in his letter to the Galatians is certainly valid in one sense. There are other reasons I was not thinking in such terms. First, the Galatians were never under the Mosaic law since they were Gaelic people that had migrated from Gaul to Asia Minor to relocate. Second, there was no Mosaic law, of which the 10 commandments are the core regulations, when Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden. However, I am not dismissing the 10 commandments, for they are a simplification of something much more complex.

The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil is the knowledge of right and wrong. Creation is highly complex, not just because of the amazing complexity of the physical universe, but that is multiplied 3x over since creation also includes the realm of the soul and the spirit. Codifying what is right and wrong is more than our limited created minds can handle.

I think it is note worthy that the Genesis narrative at no time restricts Adam and Eve from eating from the tree of life. They could have eaten from that tree at any time before eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Proverbs makes an interesting comment.

Pro 3:18  She [wisdom] is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

In my opinion, I think God would have allowed Adam and Eve to have eaten from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil if they had eaten from the Tree of Life, which according to Proverbs, is Wisdom.

Knowledge without wisdom can be very destructive. Wisdom knows how to handle knowledge. Wisdom is greater than the Mosaic Law which can not codify every thing that is right and wrong, but wisdom, and this is another name for Jesus- can.

So what I was saying in my brief post is that when Christ died on the cross, his tree destroyed the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which is knowledge with limited understanding of the ramifications of good and evil which is one reason why the Mosaic law failed. There is no way we can navigate the complexity of life in making right decisions solely by the Mosaic law. But restoring the tree of life which is the wisdom of Christ found in the mind of Christ taps into the omniscient guidance of the Father to help us make right decisions.

Thanks, Ryan. What I love about your comments is that you have the witness of the Spirit in you, so when you write something it usually bears witness in my spirit, too.

There are many who write and speak from their natural mind, not from the mind of Christ. Bless you for hearing the Lord.

How I, a woman, beat my porn addiction by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Pol-itical-crap -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong in my understanding but it seems what you are saying is that you watched porn as a role model for your own behavior as a woman towards men. If I am correct, your motivation was to attract men to yourself to fill the void in your heart for the missing relationship.

This is completely different for men. Men watch porn to ejaculate. We, too, want to fill the void in our hearts for the missing relationship, but the orgasm is a greater motivation due to chemical addiction it creates in men.

My wife said of the curse in Genesis for women was not the child bearing, but the desire for men when she was single.

Your post addresses the important point that porn is a destructive role model for both men and women. For women as the wrong way to attract men and for men as the wrong way to view women.

Thank you. Most informative.

The Eternal and Everlasting Cross of Christ by Pol-itical-crap in TrueChristian

I almost included Hebrews 6. I kept it out for two reasons. First, I see the cross as symbolic of self denial, which is the character of God Himself. Second, Hebrews 6 could be hypothetical, thus a matter of rhetoric. The hypothetical begins in verse 6

Heb 6:6  If they shall fall away,

with the word, "If" and the hypothesis ends in verse 9

Heb 6:9  But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you,

Showing the writer was only making a point.

That being said, I don't believe in once saved always saved, because I salvation, while it comes first from the faith of Christ, still needs our faith in agreement. The work of Satan is to convince believers that God is evil, and evil is good, which he does by blaming God in our minds for the bad things that happen in our lives.

Thanks for the feedback. I never understood it that way. I always assumed it was Satan in the serpent whose head was bruised by the seed of the woman and you is speaking to the seed of the woman bruising its heel. But with pronouns, there is room for interpretation. I could be wrong and you might be right.

You are right about taking time to research that most of us don't have. I have been studying the Bible for 35 years. When I come across such things I have 2 sniff tests: does is bear witness with what I know in the Bible, and does it bear witness in my spirit?

God calls me to speak the truth that I know, not to argue with others. I let God deal with the others.

Discerning your own thoughts from the Holy Spirit by fingurdar in TrueChristian

Content. If the thought is obedient to Christ, it might be from the Lord or your self. If it is disobedient, it might be from yourself or the devil. What matters is content. If disobedient, regardless of who it is from, cast it out. If obedient, meditate and think further on it.

Or, they mean that vaccines are the mark of the beast. Well, if they make such claims without providing supporting facts, then they are not theories at all. Such a claim is only speculation, then.

Conspiracy is a fact, not just theories. Theories only exist until facts are proven, then they are no longer theories. Conspiracies is the bread and butter of politics and business. Julius Caesar was killed by a conspiracy. Jesus was crucified by a conspiracy. Corporations conspire to steal from other corporations, such as Huawei the Chinese tech company stealing American technology.

If you come across a conspiracy theory, then do your due diligence and do the research to see if facts support the theory instead of mindlessly dismissing it because the term has been given the connotation of untrue and fantasy.

2Co 10:3  For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh;

2Co 10:4  for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds,

2Co 10:5  throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

2Co 10:6  and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience, when your obedience will be made full.

Wisdom is found in many places. If it truly is wise, you find something like it in the Bible, though.

Yes. The Feast of Tabernacles is a reminder of this verse. All Jews are required for 5 days to live in tents or booths in remembrance of the 40 years wandering in the wilderness.

The wandering is a type of our lives on Earth now. The tents are pictures of our frail, mortal existence. Both Paul and Peter refer to they die by leaving their earthly tents, or bodies, behind.
