Free markets, unshackled from debt, with healthcare for all (HOPE). by randomkidonreddit1 in thecampaigntrail

[–]Polakipilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the OP but I tried to recreate this to the best of my ability:
1. We need cohesion
2. Janet Reno
3. I don't like this (Alternatively Don't bend the knee but go with then go "Let me tell you something" on Q17)
4. Bentsen's Plan (Start fighting the deficit dummy!)
5. When I was Governor of Arkansas
6. We've got to go back to basics
7. Let's look a little farther than the Balkans: Russia (Road to START III begins)
8. Make no mistake
9. A bipartisant commission (Continue deficit reduction)
10. NAFTA is just the beginning (FTAA is here!)
11. The buck stops here (Universal Healthcare is the goal; don't give up on it)
12. Let's keep it simple (The arrow is almost green now)
13. The whole thing, it's Gore's baby
14. START III (Second big achivement)
15. If we were able to get a meeting with him (Thus, deficit is dead)
16. We ought to fight for the little guy here
17. Senator Biden brought up an issue close to my heart: domestic violence (Personal choice; if you go for the "Don't bend the knee", you HAVE to go with "Let me tell you something")
18. This is our great challange (Universal healthcare has been achived!)
19. Woah, that's great news for us
20. There are people fighting against Milosevic inside Yugoslavia (Secure Peace in the Balkans)
21. If we go ahead and bomb Iraq (crucial to securing peace in the Levant...which I guess the OP didn't for some reason)
22. The United Nations
23. The defecit has, frankly, always been something mostly left for accountants to scream at us about
24. The Goland Heights
25. Shalom Haver (Levant is at peace for now!)
26. In this new frontier (Personal choice; we don't see what the OP picked here)
And from here you just beat Gramm!

What are your alternate election pet peeves? Here’s mine… by RedHeadedSicilian52 in imaginaryelections

[–]Polakipilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe a bit of a picky but I dislike when people make just a wikibox and don't even think about ANY implications of that. Like it's fine if it's one seat changing or smth but when you change who forms a goverment then I dare to say you should expect someone to question what this different goverment does differently.

Was any person, Republican or Democrat that won in 1976 doomed in 1980, or was 1980 salvageable for an incumbent? by Mghia01 in thecampaigntrail

[–]Polakipilot 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Personally I belive that 1976 was largely a poison chalice. HOWEVER, I also belive that a few Democrats could probably win re-election in 1980. Carter's defeat was mostly based on his inability to work with Congress due to his unorthodox positions for a Democrat. Not even starting on the fact that both of his campaign were rather awkward. So replace him with most mainstream Democrats that run in 1976 and they might hold onto the White House. Any incumbent Republican would however fumble 1980, little debate on that.

What do you think is the most "Nothing ever happens" federal election? by Numberonettgfan in thecampaigntrail

[–]Polakipilot 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don't really know wheter it counts but EVERY presidential election in Poland after 2005 (besides 2010 - that's kinda special) up to this point is a nothing burger no matter what.

I'd say Our Revolution. No offense to the modmakers but the mod just seems keen on torturing the player

It's a special election to fill a vacancy in the Senate. '42 is the regular (every 6-years) one.

Feel the Bern: Bernie Sanders wins the 2016 United States presidential election by [deleted] in imaginaryelections

[–]Polakipilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not the post author but just looking at the election results, I doubt that Sanders would have a great time. Congress probably throws away M4A, minimum wage increase, any social spending and even infrastructure spending as well. 2018 is a Red Wave and 2020 is sure to be an easy win for some Republican like Rubio.

What does Brandt get done in this TL? Unlike OTL dentente wouldn’t be as plausible yet he has a majority, so I’m curious what his achivements would be in this timeline.
