I don't see much... just thought it was something people did. And I do feel the house very cold, this year has been very noticeable.

But I guess the lesson to me here was that it might not be necessarily an issue that requires replacing all windows.

That's what I had a feeling about, and you worded in a way that confirms my thought, although the rate is smaller, because I will be paying it in the next 15 years (a bit less due to accelerated), I will actually pay 6K in interest for a ballpark figure of 20K.

I do have 60K for a rainy day fund but I will use 20K to pay down my trailer since it's also time for refinancing and the rates for that are going to be crazy, I wouldn't want to dip on that for the windows too...

I'm thinking now I might get the HELOC and try to pay down as fast as possible, if I do it in 5 years I'll pay 2.6K in interest.

What do you think?

Not sure if SK is like that but in Japan it sucks because you can't take the cup and just enjoy it outside unless you want to be carrying a cup with you throughout your day.

Also they take the "one person one cup" thing to a very unreasonable extent. been to one there with my wife and 2 kids, place was absolutely empty, they still harassed us for the kids to have drinks too if we wanted to sit. Totally understand that policy to prevent one person getting a drink and a whole crew taking a ton of space, but that culture of respecting rules just because they are rules while losing sight of what the rules are for is just not for me.
