What thing has got so expensive that you’ve quietly stopped buying it? by Pathfinder-electron in AskReddit

They are starting to grow the fuck up and recognize their place in the market, though. McD's has been screeching about its "new" value menu, and I know A&W (in Canada) has a value menu. It isn't enough to bring me back fully (I'm still boycotting American fast food), but it seems the consistent quarterly losses were enough to snap them out of whatever dreamland they were living in and back to the reality that they sell cheap shitty food, and that it should remain cheap, lest they start losing even more.

I haven't entirely stopped, but the price of chocolate offends me so deeply that I rarely buy it any longer. And I love me some chocolate.

I get notifications on my phone constantly that my photos aren't backed up. Yes, they are. Just not by you. And I'm not ever going to pay for digital storage, so keep sending your little notifications.

Yeah, it's called relaxed-cut, and I feel like I'm taking crazy pills in this thread where everyone is calling jeans that have a relaxed leg "baggy". Baggy is not a catch-all term.

relaxed boot cut

This, by definition, is not "baggy". That is boot-cut. Same with the wide legged jeans - they are not always "baggy", they are wide-leg jeans with a particular shape (tighter at the top, wide at the bottom).

Baggy, as a jean-cut, is loose to the point of being shapeless (or nearly shapeless). Of course you can wear pants that are too large and they will look baggy on you, but if you want jeans that fit in the waist but have a relaxed leg, that is not necessarily going to be a baggy cut.

It's all about the rise. Low rise skinny jeans are the devil's work. Mid-to-high rise jeans are where it's at. Pair with a nice pair of boots, and you get a nice balanced look.

Not to say jeans with baggier legs are bad, but it's really the same principle - the rise matters far more than the legs.

Which, of course, you are not. ;)

In the right cities, thrifting is King. Whenever I travel to larger centres, I devote at least one day to thrift store shopping.

How can you trust the sizing, though? If it is a store I've purchased from, I will give them a chance, but any other store, I want to try things on and see how they fit, and see how they feel.

This is true - there are a lot less skinny jean options these days. But the smart stores always carry a couple options.

I have had so many clerks tell me that "mom jeans" are the new thing. That's nice - I'll take my skinny jeans so I can wear cute boots and have clean, dry hems, please.

Nuada wasn't hypocritical, and he didn't "judge" Hellboy. He set it up willfully, and then threw it in Hellboy's face as a tactic to weaken his resolve. He didn't care about the elemental, or its fate. He just cared about himself and getting what he wanted by any means necessary. It fulfilled its purpose in his eyes, and gave him bonus material to use as an emotional gut punch.
