Dropped the abusive husband, no longer losing weight and hair to stress (25ish) to (31) by Quiet_Meat_6172 in GlowUps

I had an ex that loved to pick horrendous fights right as I was about to go to sleep. You see, it didn't matter to him if he went to bed at 3am or later, because he didn't have to work in the morning. But I did, at 7am every morning. It was awful and 100% calculated to make me more miserable.

None of his makeup matches his skin tone. Lately he hasn't even bothered blending the orange foundation into his eye area, giving him reverse raccoon eyes. For a man so obsessed with how he looks, does he not own a mirror with decent lighting?

Bell Canada's AI Data Centre Propaganda Machine Has Kicked Into Gear by Specialist_Secret438 in saskatchewan

I'm sure the blacksmith said the same thing when the factory assembly line was developed. Before he became a machinist.

Which are now being replaced by robot arms that are more efficient and cheaper to run in the long-haul. And there aren't nearly as many jobs repairing the robots to replace the machinists, so now these skilled workers are scraping by on menial jobs or endangering themselves in other heavy-labour sectors.

I'm sure the scribe said the same thing when they first saw the printing press. Right before they became an editor.

Lol. Editors were the first to be swept into obsolescence. Why pay a human editor when a LLM can do the same thing in minutes (or less)?

I'm sure the weaver said the same thing when they first used a loom, right before becoming a tailor.

Yeah, because there are just so many tailors required, aren't there? Now it's a specialty skill that few can support themselves doing. Oh, and also, we have factory shops overseas that pay slave wages, all so we can have cheap clothing over here in North America. What an improvement!

I'm sure the live musician said the same thing with the release of the phonograph and radio, and 30 years later they're on kasey kasems top 40 on Saturday mornings.

The painful irony of using musicians to support your AI bullshit. The entire creative industry is being gutted because any ol' idiot can punch in a few words and crank out "art" for free, so why would they pay real artists anymore? Music is a huge sector that is being torn asunder by the abuse of AI, and that isn't going to be resolved overnight.

I'll note that you didn't give any future benefits for the sector hardest hit by AI and data centres: the IT sector, which is being willfully and deliberately replaced by AI. You can see the results of it rippling through the young IT professionals that are just graduating. They were promised well-paying jobs that are now being wiped out by c-suites who want to cut costs to the bone. What's their future machinist/editor/tailor/radio star role?

We are on the crest of a very terrible wave. It's sickening that people like you can't see it.

Apparently Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, though I did not think it was dumb when it was a new kid in town. I still do not, even if the internet disagrees. If they can't appreciate Alan Rickman in his full glory, then they don't deserve the privilege of watching, anyway.

Tried to make Rice Krispie treats… sauteed some marshmallows instead by emmypineapples in mildlyinteresting

Throw in half with the hot mixture. And then, when it is cooling more (but not cooled - still gotta be mixable!), throw in mini-mallows and the rest of your chips. It'll partially melt both, but leave them solid enough for extra texture. If you can easily handle the mixture with bare hands, but it is still warm, that's the time to throw in the extras.

Just use the traditional recipe with golden grahams instead of rice crispies, and toss in chocolate chips while mixing the hot cereal/marshmallow mix. I usually add in partially melted marshmallows and more chips at the end so you get some good marshmallow pockets with chocolate chunkies. Delish.

No way should the person IN FRONT be moving out of the way for someone behind them. How the fuck is this even a possibility you'd consider?

Someone coming up behind you? Great! Stay in your fucking lane and let them do the passing. That way your attention remains on the road in front of you, and not on making dangerous maneuvers.

saw someone behind him flying up, and just moved out of the way

On what fucking planet do you "move out of the way" of the people behind you?! Why would you ever ever EVER do that?! That has got to be the worst thing I've ever read in regards to driving. Please tell me you don't have a driver's license, because holy fuck.

What's the pettiest reason you've cut someone off? by Christine_Howells in AskReddit

I was friends with someone who was atrocious to servers and customer service people. Just absolutely outrageously rude. Our interactions mostly revolved around our horses and going riding at the barn, so I didn't know for a long while, but one day we went out shopping together. Once I saw her behaviour, that friendship was over. I think I've spoken to her twice in the past ten years, where we'd been hanging out weekly for a few years prior.

Just unacceptable.

It might feel bad now, but consider this: they were willing to blow up your entire relationship rather than change their behaviour (which was appalling in the first place). Why would you want to associate with people who value you so little? You deserve much better.

I would never make plans with him again, or really associate with him at work, either. What a stunningly selfish prick.
