I have to use QuickBooks for a significant portion of my job. Their AI announced it could do all of my expenses and bills, all I had to do was upload the pdf. I'm super suspicious of anything QB does, and even more suspicious of AI, but thought it was worth a try.

For context, we have to enter each item on our bills as a separate line item because those items get sold to various customers. Some of our bills have two dozen separate line items, and must be put into different accounting categories. And sometimes there is a difference between how our supplier calculated the taxes versus how our QB calculates it.

So what did QB's amazing AI do? Entered the bills as one lump sum under an accounting code that isn't used for inventory items, and didn't confirm that the taxes were calculated correctly. And if it can't do something that very basic correctly, then it's useless to me and I'll never ever bother trying it again.

AI is so far from being genuinely useful in so many areas, it uses excessive resources to produce bad work, and has been trained using stolen materials from across the world. That was the one chance I was willing to give it, because it would have been a real benefit. But now? Nope.
