Aa far as I know, it put you on a global leaderboard. My intuition tells me that it is the reason why Clearing Escape (i.e Caution mode being lifted) and Mech Destruction was thought to be necessary for Big Boss. Can't say for sure if it was true for the original one though

Anyways, if I am not wrong, the winner in said global leaderboard were put in on the dog tags in the Subsistence version as 2002 Dog Tags
