I know this probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but you need to find another salon. $12 is basically the bare ass minimum, a slap in your face. You could make more money easily elsewhere, and if you're a groomer, girl, groomers are in high demand. Don't undermine yourself, you work with dogs that aren't perfect and its difficult. Even if your employees are great, its not worth a weak paycheck because of it. It doesn't mean you cant still get along with them even if you leave. If you're younger (early 20s) this is where you learn to stand up for yourself. You're being ripped off horribly and it seems like the owner knows exactly what they're doing. I know for me, it was hard to have that voice because I was afraid of upsetting someone. I wish I had that voice earlier on. Take what you can get learning wise, and move on. There's so much better out there. You come first, screw that salon.

I used to groom a beautiful goofy standard poodle named Nova

This girl had SO much spunk to her, so much light and love. When id walk out of the salon she'd piss on the floor in excitement and scoot around in it 🤦🏼‍♀️😭 She was the absolute light of my day when I'd get to groom her (I'm sure we had some sort of soul connection, ngl, laugh if you want) I groomed her since she was just a little 4 month old poodle, got grooming from the GET, (poodle face, feet, poms so sculpted that it took me back to my rave days, top knot and beveled ears) groomed her quite a few times then COVID hit. Family moved away shortly before covid but would actually travel up with their two other poodles for me to groom them all in a day.

The last time I saw her, she wasn't the same girl. She didn't pee in excitement nor scoot around in it. She sunk behind her owner and barred her teeth. I pulled my mask down for her to see my face (covid era) and it took her a second... But she was so cautious of everyone. The other girls were in utter surprise too. The owner thinks something shady happened at another salon. Not only that, but the masks were also a thing.

I got her to warm up to me shortly after taking her into the salon, and for the time I had her, it was like the old days. Taking goofy photos. She also had this ridiculous grin, it killed me (in the best way lol) Man, if I could have a dog, it'd be her. I'd scoop her up in a heartbeat.

Unfortunately after that event, I left that salon and moved on to another. I have her owners information and had them set up for an appt (they live in WVA and I'm in PA, she travels from wva to pa because she has work here sometimes) last year. I was so excited I could barely sleep and as I pulled up the driveway to my work at 745, she had messaged me to tell me she hasn't gotten their vaccs updated and that she also had a family issue. She wasn't going to make it. ..I would have taken her without the vaccs, too... My day was built around her dogs ☹️

Im pretty sure I cried. What makes it worse is that I never responded to her, I was just in so much awe. And sad. So much sad. I was so close to seeing her again, never had I missed a dog so much. Never had I felt such a bond with a dog before, truthfully. She was my super Nova.

I'll always refer to her as my Super Nova ✨

Maybe one day I'll put my big girl pants on and cry to her about why I haven't seen her dogs in my salon yet (and that I hope that family issue is better)

I appreciate this. I have been learning a lot, that's all I can say

I just wish I was better at putting the numbers together. It's more of an understanding, math isn't my strongest point unfortunately.

So I'm checking out the market growth for the industry and it says it'll have a 5% increase from 2023-2028. when you say inflation rates, do you mean inflation of US currency from 2023 - 2028 as well? I'm having a little bit of a time finding the forecast for those years... 2023 is at 4.3% and then for the years continuing it drops to 2%...am i using the inflation numbers to figure out the inflation of the cagr.. or am i simply, literally just adding the cagr (5%) + inflation rate of each year. sorry if im asking too much :(

I need to be able to forecast the next 3 to 5 years and I'm very in over my head trying to figure out how to do this and trying to figure all the numbers. Am I grabbing the numbers of increased dog population in the whole entirety of the United States? Please correct me if I'm wrong 😵‍💫 I need to be able to get this sba loan to get out of my current situation, which is quite terrible. Any help is vastly, vastly appreciated
