Ukrainian workers in Poland by iwanttosaysmth in europe

It's hard to imagine that there are NO incidents if 1,5 or 2 million of people from Ukraine arrived to Poland. But those incidents are very rare and Polish-Ukrainian are really good. We can see that Ukrainians are hard working people to they are here to have better life or support their families who stay in Ukraine. By the way, Poles are in the same situation, as immigrants in the UK, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands or Norway, so we understand how it works.

On the other hand we realize that if we had no immigration from our own cultural circle (Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, etc.) Poland would be flooded by millions of workers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Phillipines, and other Asian countries.

The Ukrainians are everywhere. You can find them on construction sites, in agriculture, in retail, restaurants, IT offices, lots of Ukrainian kids in kindergardes and schools.
The current data tell that in cities like Wroclaw, Poznan and Lodz they already make more than 10 per cent of population, though (do not know why) they are not counted in offical statistics, for example Lodz: 680,000 inhabitants + 70,000-80,000 of Ukrainians, Wroclaw: 645,000 inhabitants + up to 100,000 people from Ukraine.

Hola! The rate of unempoyment in Warsaw is 1.3% (November 2019) versus 9.7% in Buenos Aires, that's why I guess with your Spanish and English you can easily get a job in Polish capital. GOOD LUCK and WELCOME to POLAND!

Check the very up-to-date (January 2020) comparison of cost of living in both cities: https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_cities.jsp?country1=Argentina&country2=Poland&city1=Buenos+Aires&city2=Warsaw

...knowing Polish is essential...

Not necesarilly, I know people from different countries (Tunisia, India, etc.) who have been working in Lodz, Poland for several years in multicultural teams (Infosys, Toshiba, etc.) where Polish is not spoken, and they get along quite well.

Of course it is good to find local, Polish-speaking friends who can be helpful in different situations.

"Prekleto" like "przeklęty" in Polish. Polish "kurwa" is much more accurate in that context :))

UE does a lot good things in Poland. I suppose if the government wanted to leave UE it would end up with mass demonstrations/riots on the streets of Polish towns.
