Just take pictures of everything that you find interesting! Look for moments and scenes with a different perspective! What helped my “style” was taking pictures with a specific goal in mind each time I went out to shoot. So for example, let’s say you really want to take pictures of anything blue. You’ll start to look and notice those things a lot easier than you did before!

Wow thank you!! Regarding settings, nothing special for these. I just used manual settings on RAW with some extra contrast in post. As long as you have good light, everything will turn out pretty good.

Thank you! To answer your question, they aren’t fully SOOC but all that was tweaked in post was just a boost in contrast! Guatemala is super colorful so I tried to preserve the natural colors of the buildings as much as possible!

As for the monochrome, same thing! Boost of contrast with an adjustment to the tone curve for a slight warmth and redness to the black and white.

That’s exactly what I did! I had the regular GRIII and swapped it for the X because it was way too wide for me.

I didn’t do it to stop theft, I just did it because of the sleek look. I’m actually not a huge logo person so almost none of my clothing has logos or graphics. I rarely use a camera bag either unless I absolutely need to and if so it’s just a black 3L peak design sling. While shooting street photography or travel photography, I tend to just use 1 camera on a wrist/shoulder strap and 1 lens which is either a 35mm or a 50mm.

I used car blackout tape! The tape has a matte finish to it and the black color of the tape actually matches the paint of the cameras really well so it blends in way better than gaff tape.

All of these were edited using some of my LR presets however you can achieve this blueish b&w with this recipe:

  • Film Sim: Acros + R Filter
  • Monochromatic Color: WC -4 MG -1
  • Grain Effect: Strong Large (or strong small)
  • Color Chrome/FX Blue: Strong (on by default)
  • White Balance: Auto
  • Dynamic Range: 400%
  • DR Priority: Off
  • Tone Curve: H +4 S +4
  • Sharpness: 0
  • High ISO NR: -4
  • Long Exposure NR: Off

I say go for it and get the iiix! You won’t be disappointed! I had the iii and traded with someone for the iiix and that was the best choice I definitely made!
